Alright...so I am 1 or 17 people worldwide not on FB. Here's my dilemma. My father is on FB and remarkable outspoken politically. To the point where it's embarassing. He's the classic "I'm retired I don't what anyone thinks" guy.

So how can I join FB and be friends with him, but hide my friendship on FB? Is this even possible?

    Thanks for the feedback.

If you friend him there will be an arrow if he posts something in the right hand corner of the post. Click on that and highlight unfollow. You will still be friends but not see his posts

To each their own brother, I'm on there as I am an admin for my son's 4th class as him room parent. I also head up my son's Scout Pack. So there are other uses to Facebook that some people like to use it for

A little of this and a little of that.
The better question is how can you access his FB account and friend all of the political sites that he doesn't agree with.

First off, fuck facebook. Second, dont be his friend. If he asks why, tell him why. He told you how life works as you were growing up, now its your turn to tell him.

If you join facebook, facebook will get your DNA and automatically link you to your dad. And you will be deemed guilty by association. [IMG]

and did you know that .....

    I wholeheartedly agree.

If you want to know everyone's opinion about every stupid thing than Facebook is the place to be.

Obv I have not felt compelled to join the shit show that is Facebook to this point. However, we just moved to a new community where all our boys classmates parents organize through FB. Sometimes we get a courtesy text cuz people can't find us on FB.

It's oddly enough for our kids more than anything.

It's amazing how Facebook centric everything seems to be these days. I had FB years ago and decided to delete it after I realized everyone I was "friends" with weren't really much of my friends. I felt if we couldn't keep in touch with each other via phone or text it wasn't really worth it. On top of all the weird stuff that would get posted by them.

I'm the Peanut Butter parent now when it comes to PTA/school/sport organized events or activities.
