I'm usually pretty good at actively engaging. But we're going on month three of the 'what should I get' game and I'm bored out of my skull with it. I've told her that I don't care what she gets but that she's on her own with the payments. I helped pay her car off over the last 3 years so that she could pound miles to it without having to worry about resale value, and as soon as she paid it off she wanted to trade it in. Not real amused there, since I could have had my truck paid off by now if I hadn't been throwing extra $$ into her payments instead. So beyond covering the bill herself, at this point I don't really care what she gets, haha!

Yeah, but then I get to say "I told you so" which usually keeps her from whining about it in the future because she's stubborn like that.

85% of the time i am good about engaging the conversation and listening and paying attention. But it's that 15% that comes back to bite me in the ass. Just like RR's clip, I'll say something she is wicked excited about and then completely forget about it.

Morning dingleberries... Late night last night. Hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th!

This morning, getting breakfast, I walk out to my truck to find a nice, fresh, scrape going from the rear bumper and over the fender. It's on the driver's side so I noticed it instantly. I let out a pretty quiet "are you fucking kidding me... geez people suck at driving" but the Lady who hit me jumps out of her car going "sorry! Sorry!"

Anyway, she offered to pay, to which I said forget it. I'll cut that piece out and build a high clearance bumper.... her lucky day. I did leave her with a "pay attention next time" and drove off. At least she was very up front and honest. She waited for me to come back, so that was good. A lot of ass hats would have drove off. Looks like I'll be expediting a HC rear now.

you're a lot nicer than i would have been. i'd have asked her for at least some of the cost of what it would have taken to fix it. get her out of having to report it to insurance

The Kenwood unit I have is 22 RMS so I am just going to see how it sounds...
If it's not enough I'll get one of the little power pack amps that clarion and alpine make. You can tuck them up under the dash. I don't have any free space in my truck because I have a kid and she is tall...so if I'm driving in the access cab I can't have too much crap on the floor and it's not like there is a ton of space...
The clarion XC series amps or the Alpine KTP amps that can tucked into tight places would be my next step if the speakers aren't robust enough with my head unit...

And pending all that, I'm also looking to stash one of the under seat subwoofers under the passenger seat...again that will all depend on the fullness of the sound when I get the speakers.

Nah, that was from yesterday. But I snapped the picture because I happened to see the Ford sign lined up perfectly and that quote just popped into my head.

I might need new speakers soon. One of mine distorts really easy now. Do the stock speakers have dust caps? Had the dust cap fall off a speaker in one of my old cars, so it was bouncing off of the cone when I turned up the volume.

After spending a decent amount of time driving an 06 mustang v6. I would probably opt for a new WRX. Mustang fun to drive but it's long over hangs poor interior set up suck for daily driving. A nice 4 door with AWD with less blind spots is probably better for DD. But you can't put a value on want once you fall in love with a car.

I love the 4dr turbo concept and the new wrx is nice however I just couldn't grasp their new interior. Coming from an older 2012 WRX to that i felt like I was in a lexus wannabe space ship... The motor holds up decently for power and they're a bit easier to work on however I still don't understand why they went with a crappy cvt style tranmission for their auto. But then again I guess no one buys an auto to make power. The 6spd is nice though... wish they had a 6 speed for the older gens and not their glass 5spd.
