I got it the truck started it and the check engine light was on along with the Trac-Off light.. I did try to post a pic but my reception sucks here at work.

Any ideas on what could be the issue as the truck is at the dealership now as it is under warranty....

Nah, I was on vacation at the time and parked on the sand so if it persisted I would of taken it in but the next day it turned off. Though maybe it happened because I was close to my oil change but I had like 500 more to go.

    Loose vacuum line?
When i got check engine and trac lights on my Highlander, the trouble codes were for lean condition. A hose had popped loose from intake tube near air filter housing. Reconnected it and all lights went off.

the issue is you need an obdII scanner

or have dealer figure it out

otherwise you are asking the forums which of 2100 possible codes it can be ? LOL

Even if its tight now there still could have been or is a small leak, same thing happened to me dude. And like someone else said best investment is a $50-100 OBD II reader or auto zone to pull a code for you before a trip to the dealer.

if it happens one time, cycle the key on off a few times and it should go away
if it comes back instantly or repeatedly, check for codes and proceed on with your next steps i.e. dealership or your independent mechanic

On that note, I just got scangage a week or so ago from autozone for 20% plus $10 gift card and free shipping. You might want to see if they still have that coupon active.

well you are the one posting the most empty thread in the land.

MIL is on, what could it be ?

I will tell you what it could be. that vehicles ECU is sending a signal to illuminate the MIL. period. there is no better answer based on the details you provided.

Well, I explained the details as it occurred Trac-Off light on and check engine light on.Why does everything have to turn into some pissing contest on here when someone asks a question? Clearly others have had the same issue form the responses posted but they don't know what caused the issue.

Dealer just called and said they're no codes or issues they can find @ the moment but yet they saw the lights on when I dropped off the truck. This should be interesting......

And again thanks for your input Mr. Obvious!!

oh you are right !!!!! my mistake

Trac OFF almost always illuminates when MIL is on

so that narrows it down from 2100 possible issues

    to about 2067

dealer is bullshitting you.... if it came in with a code it logs why it was
lit, even if it goes out later on. techstream report, I would want to see it

Truck needs a cheap eBay bumper to fix the issue.

And yes I am fully aware of how this works as I clearly stated almost the same thing to the service adviser......
