Does the thief get your gun and your truck? Or do you just hide in the bushes with your pistol, waiting for someone to steal your truck? Not sure I follow the logic here.

Here in California, auto insurance is a must. In-fact, you can't even take your brand new vehicle you bought from the dealership home unless and until you show them proof of valid and existing insurance of an auto insurance in your name, and you are given 72 hours to transfer the insurance to your new vehicle. Thankfully, you could show proof of insurance in CA on your cellphone (emailed copy of the insurance proof) to LEO if you're pulled over. I had an email my insurance agent sent to my email which I quickly emailed the dealership as I was buying my vehicle and they printed out a copy.

That said, unless you're a veteran, most people don't have USAA. Mine is through CIG, and the requirements of my finance requires a full cover with collision coverage. So yes, I have excellent insurance. But how does it cover all the modifications, shocks, and upgrades worth thousands of dollars users here does was my question. Or things like having your wheels taken and such. I was curious how people protect their investment.

For those asking.... they do often steal using a flatbed.

I don't know much about theft to comment, but do you think this is a stealthy way and quick way to steal a car without anyone hearing or seeing? Your big truck on top of another bigger truck? With CHP's camera's on most streets not these days, at-least they got plenty in my city.

Most auto thieves, from watching COPs show, just break in to steal valuables they see, most times stereo and speakers, wheels and what not.
Anyone got glass breakage sensor alarm or shock sensor etc?

Most people don't pay attention.... besides, is it a repo? is it broke down and needs a ride to the shop? Most probably find reasons to think it's not grand theft auto.

A couple of years ago I saw a news report on the "club". To defeat the club in short amount of time a hacksaw or recip saw was used to cut the steering wheel, bend it and the club came free.

Bottom line if a good thief wants your vehicle , its gone.

As @cbreze said, lock the club on the steering wheel backwards, it's a deterrent. It will be harder. See below his comment
Hm. I am not so sure. Perhaps driving a stolen car is quicker and less noticeable than having it on a flatbed and drive a truck with a truck on top at top speed less than 55mph. Not in my city, good luck to those thieves trying. My post also break-ins too, smash windows and taking things, wheels etc. A user here recently had his step bars stolen.
@mike2810 , Thanks for stating the obvious, but not required. This thread was mostly to hear what everyone one has done to protect their vehicles. I also didn't see you offer any suggestions. The club is only just one deterrent. One of the protections you could add to your vehicle. Costs only $45 and is far more worthwhile than a $2500 lift for a mere 3".
@Paul631 , is that legal in Australia? Geez!

Anyone here installed a hidden kill switch yet? Added shock sensors? window shatter sensors? A distributor switch perhaps? or have a battery quick disconnect? have lojack or something similar?

Surely, if this is the case it would get caught. If not one among the million cameras here will. In my city repo men and tow truck drivers require special licenses, and markings and lights. They make a BIG deal about this, I used to have a neighbor who was a tow truck driver who worked for one of those companies. Poor guy.
I had a professor who got his lifted and modified truck stolen from our college campus. He was devastated. He spend a lot of money on it, and was very closed to students afterwards for a while.
The thing here in So Cal is, you could steal a car and drive straight across the border and sell it and make money. Mexico is less than 20 miles down Interstate 5 from here. For crossing the border only requirement is the car must be driven across (cannot be towed), must have a valid and current registration (doesn't have to be in your name), and call faces and plates are scanned as they go past. Of-course, when you come back in you could get caught by detectives.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I don't have a 2016 but I put enough body damage in mine no one will want it

I also find making it not your generic "____ color Tacoma #2485025" helps keep people from taking it. Mine kinda sticks out like a sore thumb...

Trees, bushes, dents, dings, a gnarly scratch n' dent on the roof. No tail gate, cut up fenders, banged up fenders...

    The cost of wheelin'.

Not while you're in the truck @George1441 . When you are away from your truck.
