How is it that a tranny that has no dipstick to check the level can be 1-2-3 quarts low and there not be some sort of warning light or indicator that comes on to notify the owner of a potential issue??
I have an A5 Audi that ive had a warning pop up when less than 1 quart low of oil.

Why would you need a dipstick on the tranny??
Do you have any idea how many idiots there are out there that overfill or put the wrong oil? FYI, TONS of them!
The tranny is sealed, and for that reasons, get over it!
The claims that it's low is by and large B/S. The tranny is properly filled. Some stearlerships maybe telling ppl it was low and added fluid to make them feel good, but in reality, they don't waste their time. The scan software tells them if it's low. And in spite of what is said here, it's good nuff for Toyota who knows better and it ought to be good nuff for anyone.
If what is said here was true, they'd be tons of tranny failures on both the 2nd Gen and the 3rd Gen, not to mantion other makes & models out there. An auto tranny fails when it overheats due to an overload. A manual tranny burns the clutch when it is overloaded also. Only diff is a clutch is easier/cheaper to change than a tear down on a auto trans.
You want an warning light?? Drive an Audi, the Tacoma is already too expensive as is.
Why would you want to add another $500 for another idiot light?
Is not needed! It will either last if it's quality build, or it won't.
    Hope that helps!
    Cheers!

“ CLEAR DOCUMENTED evidence that the transmissions are low…” Really dude??
Ever heard of Photoshop?? You can doc any pic and make it seem legit.
    This is the ‘internet’ friend.
And all kinds of ppl have all kinds of motives to make up chit! Even just for fun or hell of it! Lmaoo!
Having said that most of the posts on other subjects such as mods and tech info is for the most good to go and greatly appreciated. There’s all kind of great ppl on here, well meaning good hearted ppl on this forum.
But baseless derogatory post I take with a grain of salt.
…”good enough" is not a spec.” Really?? A spec is a range, a number or quantity and as long as you’re within that range you’re "good enough" or good to go just FYI.

Your argument is baseless. There are many 3rd Gen haters and they all have their motives to see it fail. Not going to happen. There a ppl here that also say it has no power?? Really??
Hey I own the fooking truck, It has plenty of power to pass and haul chit. But I use regular gas from a quality top brand refiner, It works great AND gets great Gas Mileage. No tranny issues, or strange chit either.
Yes, there are some ppl that thru no fault of their own are logistically bound to have some issues, but not as many as being trolled.
This will all mysteriously die down when the ’17 comes out of the same assembly line with the same workers, and will be heailed as the 'best truck ever on the planet. Just wait and C yes?
    Hope that helps
    Cheers!
