    Yeah, you guys got a LOT of nice wintry weather. A genset is an essential up there man.

    it doesn't take much to run the propane furnace, so to decrease the size genset needed, you can have only the propane run when the power goes out.

    Beautiful location! Most of KY was hit by a major ice storm in January 09 and we didn't have power for 5 days. My parents were without power for 9 days. My inlaws let us borrow a small generator, which made things much more tolerable since we could plug in the microwave, a small TV, and a few lights. We also have wood burning stoves, so we stayed pretty comfortable through the mess.

    Any more pics of the house and mountains?

    who wanted to move into the middle of nowhere and into my dream house? at least the beer stayed cold even if you had no power. glad to hear you made it out ok.

    That is a beautiful house. I'd love to live there. I'm no expert on generators at all. A past employer of mine had a small honda generator for his house and he was very pleased with the performance of the Honda.
