Glad you're OK. Your first post is your (I'm sure) totaled Taco:rolleyes: If they say they can fix it I would push for it to be totaled. Then try to find another '15. I wouldn't go with a '16. A friend has one and he hates the way it tows. I would also get a check up, your gonna feel it in the morning.
    :sorry:

A new bolt here, a new bolt there, a new bolt everywhere.
I guess some people get a Monday truck. I have towed multiple times with mine and haven't had any issues, but then again(knock on wood) I haven't had any of the issues anyone else has. Mileage is good for a truck, towing is good for a mid-size truck, my only complaint is no power seats or air conditioned seats. (Texas get hotter than hell around this time)

First, glad you are OK. Sadly, I'm going to go with not totaled. Who's their insurance with?

Tacomas use a c-channel frame in the rear, they flex when you need them for articulation in offroading. Pretty sure an impact like this will have left it bent permanently.

If it is totaled, look into a 16, just test drive it extensively before purchasing it.

For everyone calling totaled, I agree that the frame is bent.

But remember, this is a '15 with under 15k. So due to the 'I can sell my Tacoma for what I paid' sentiment around here, isn't it still a $30k value we are working against here?

Toyota is very good at replacing frames. I mean replace w/new, not repair. The bed and other rear stuff is easy.

So are you thinking that those repairs would bill out at more than $25k?

To the OP, regardless of what we think, your insurance adjuster will have the last say.

You should consider a bulldog attorney. They can be quite helpful in helping you resolve the hassles you'll be having with insurance companies. Particularly if the settlement offer comes in at an amount that is not enough to replace the truck with a similar '15 (called indemnification) or worse, at an amount that doesn't cover what you owe on it.

Get to a Dr.!! A good ortho, not a chiro! Injuries are likely to appear well after the accident. Glad you are mobile at the moment. Youth is on your side. But it doesn't mean you don't need attention from a great ortho. And if you don't document it in time, insurance will play hardball with your medical.

Oh fuck no. Truck is totaled.

I hope you are ok and remain ok. I also hope the insurance negotiation goes well too. Remember, if you aren't getting a fair deal with your insurance, argue with them. Make sure you advocate for yourself.

I did hit the car in front of me. I wasn't too close to him when I was stopped, but my front bumper, skid plate is feeling it. Not sure about any internal damage that may have caused.

Glad you are ok and walked away!!!

Unfortunately (or fortunatly) that truck is totaled... that frame is bent to pieces and it would never be the same down the road.

I'd want it to be totaled. I don't think I'd be able to trust it if they tried to repair or replace the frame. Every noise or vibration would make me question it in the future. Plus, it will not have the same resale value now that it's been wrecked. If you are thinking about buying it back and repairing it if they do call it totaled, it will have a salvage title on it, so selling or trading it in will result in a huge hit in the amount you get for it.

Glad you're ok and I hope dealing with the insurance companies and everything else goes smoothly.

Three cops for a fender bender? Interesting...

I'm guessing totaled. Seems like the frame gets bent easily on rear enders. Especially at 45MPH!

I'm guessing totaled. If not, be sure to have the insurance add diminished value to the settlement as that truck will never be worth what it was before the accident.

    Glad you're okay.

Unfortunately the same thing happened to me two weeks ago. 2014 TRD OR with 50K miles. Hopefully you're ok. Frankly I didn't think it was that bad of an accident when I got hit.

My shop quoted 16K to order a new frame along with new box/bed/bumper etc. Other guy's insurance (Progressive) started down this path but found out the frame was going to take 2 months on back-order so they totaled it. I pick up my 2016 black TRD OR tomorrow! All in all it was a hassle but I'm glad I'm not driving a "rebuilt" truck...
