The Tacoma WIll always be above all the domestic shit out there in resale. IM MY opinion the domestic makers just shmooze you with a lot of stupid shit like WI-FI, bigger screens and crap like that. At the end of the day its lipstick on a PIG if you ask me. I know nobody did thats just what I think.

Only Tacoma sale that matters to me was mine...Who cares which manufacturer sales the most midsized trucks unless you own stock it in....

The twin sales will fall off dramatically in two years when ppl realize they bought a POS and are tired of time robbing trips to the stealership and annoying B/S recalls. Then you will see another facelift, propaganda and the process is repeated yet again. But The Taco will stay on course, of course.
    Stay safe
    Cheers!

The twins have the power and MPG advantage over the Colorado. Actually has some low-end torque too. I can understand why people end up in a Colorado after driving the Tacoma. Pretty gutless. I thought something was wrong with the truck when I took it out the first time.

The trucks are too new to say if they'll be POS in 2-3 yrs. The big 3 have really stepped up their game in the last 6 years. I don't know why so many toyota guys are stuck in the mindset of the 90's.

The engine isn't gutless, the transmission is. I have no lack of power in my 6MT

The rear diff is what makes it seem to have more power and the slightly lower gearing of the manual. Virtually all 2016 owners with a manual are happy. Not the case with the auto.

That seems to be the consensus. I test drove an auto while I was waiting for my truck to be delivered. I felt what everyone else felt with the slow acceleration. Happy to say that's not the case at all with my 6 speed. It has a bunch of power even with the heavy tires I have on it

If only manual were offered with double cab long bed. I imagine that could pull some people away from the more profitable Tundra. Never really heard why it's not offered in that config.

A lot of people have been waiting on the US redesign of the ford ranger. If Ford makes the right moves it could put a serious dent in GM/Toyota sales.
When I think of midsize trucks I always think of Tacomas and Rangers. I owned a red access cab ranger around 2000, it was a nice little truck... no complaints other than wanting more interior room.

My last GM was not a 90's, but it was an '08 POS, and I knew better but I liked the car. However, I got tired of the too new to fall apart interior, ABS failures due to poor wiring routing and protection, constant recalls in the mail.
Thanks but no thanks, my time is too valuable to spend on a stealership. I'd rather read the trolling going on here! lmaoo!
    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

I'm actually a GM guy who made the jump to Toyota. Granted, I bought a 2015 not the new 3rd Gen. My purchase was driven by reliability. Every GM V8 I've ever owned has been nothing short of phenomenal. Their other engines, such as V6 and 4cyl, I've had numerous issues with.

Unless I had a killer deal on a Colorado, IE 10k less than a new Tacoma, I probably wouldn't buy one. If I ever need full size, I'd go Silverado, because I trust the v8. All else...not so much.

I'd like to see a good Ranger truck on the road too, the GM twins too. I've always been a fan of the small now mid sized truck market and would hate to see them go away.

I don't want to see everyone in Toyotas.

I was looking on line at both chevrolet and toyota sites, I was building both trucks on-line and leaning more towards the colorado then tacoma more bang for the buck. What sold me on the tacoma was when I went to both truck dealerships and saw what they looked like in person, thats when I decided on the tacoma. I live in kcmo and never see sales ads on tv for the tacoma! So far I have had no trouble with mine it was built at the baja plant.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
    Oh look another shitty thread.

I'm in the same boat..... I will say the GM 4.3L V6 was a great little engine.... of course, it's pretty much a 305 cu in V8 with two cylinders lopped off.

Chevy V-8 is hard to beat in a 1/2 ton for sure. I loved my 5.9 24v Cummins 5spd. That truck was a work horse, and the motor was stone reliable.

Of course I had to deal with the other crappy Dodge issues, but tough truck none the less.
