In bed pressure washer?

Hey all Newer member here sorry if not allowed and delete if need be. I have been searching and have not found what i am looking for. I want to have a portable pressure washer like Karcher K2 with a vacuum pickup tube. I am wondering if the bed power outlet will be enough to power the washer. I want to make a portable system to take with me to the Dirtbike track so I can wash the bikes before coming home. I live in an apartment and do not have a hose to attach to washer. Anyone know or a small setup like this or does anyone HAVE a setup like this? If not I will make one but I am still waiting for my truck to be delivered to the dealer. thanks in advanced.

Keep in mind OP, the bed power is only 400 watts max, this type of pressure washer is around 1400 watts. You'd be better to go gas.

You'll never find an electric one that the bed outlet will power, so go gas, or install a higher wattage inverter.

The problem I see with the 12v ones is that its like a garden hose, I dont want to buy one and it not get the job done. The wattage converter might be an option though they just plug in to the outlet or do I need to wire it in?

You would need to wire the inverter to a 12 volt source.

you are not stripping paint, you are blasting mung off a dirt bike. you do not need the monster washers

I have used 12volts on my MTB when I race, and I have clay mud errywhere...these work fine. use a brush and poke at the really hard bits.

 

You would have to wire it and probably add a second battery for that high of a inverter wattage. To be safe, at least a 2500 watt inverter, but would be based on the wattage of the unit you want to use.

 

Im going to try and borrow a buddies washer and see if it will work. what is the worst that could happen? blow a fuse?

I'm not sure you are getting this.

The plug in the bed is an inverter. It will put out just enough A/C voltage to run a small TV at best.

If you get an inverter, you will be plugging it into one of the cigarette plugs. You can look at the writing on the little flap on these plugs. It will tell you the maximum watts the plug will produce. You can't run a pressure washer off these plugs. The wiring is not heavy enough.

You will need a very large inverter to run a pressure washer and it can not be plugged into the cigarette plugs. It will have to be clamped directly to a battery. An inverter big enough to run an electric pressure washer will be very expensive.

Your best bet, if you absolutely need serious cleaning power is to get a plastic 55 gallon drum and run water from it to a GAS pressure washer.

That should work pretty good for blasting dirty rides.

to get woods mung off a chariot

-12v DC washers pump hard enough to sting but not break skin

-gas and 1500 watt pressure washers can destroy your hand

-hand-pump plant sprayers won't hurt your eyeballs

IMHO of these three types, the 12v DC is ideal for woods adventures on a dirtbike
you may just want added tank capacity and a brush. you don't want high pressure
on a dirtbike anyway lest you wash the grease from the wheel bearings and
steerer anyhow
