    Yeah.
Yup, fat bikes are a blast! The narrowest tires now in my stable are 2.8". If I could only have one bike, though, it would be the Stache on the right.

After you've ridden it a bunch and if you feel up to it, swap out that shock for a CCDBairCS or 2016 Fox Float X. Seriously the best upgrade besides better hubs for the enduro

Yeah, I know, handling the responsibilities is what intereferes with riding as much as I want and keeps me wanting more riding more often.

On that note, I'll have to post this in both mtb and road threads because of it's wide capabilities. It's neither yet it is both..............2016 Fuji Tread 1.0 aka "9teen"

This thing kicks ass no matter where. Already have a coupla shakedown blasts over 50 miles since getting it Saturday...........

Not sure who thought it'd be cute to put that silver 105 on back but it'll turn black by next week and that oval 520 crankset will turn into a black 105 as well. 37s may be on the way too but giving the 35s a chance for now. So far they have been great on pavement and dirt.

Before anyone gets the wrong goofy impression, this will not replace any serious mtb's in the herd. It is a greenbelt monster I can ride on road, sidewalks, doubletrack, gravel or light trails. It will not be doing any back flips at red bull nor dropping off 3' or bigger ledges or bombing gnarly downhills at any high speeds. Basically it bridges both worlds to a degree...which is exactly what I wanted.

Burn out happens. Work in a shop, ride to work, ride for fun, ride for training, ride as therapy when life sucks. Do this for 5-10 years while working in a shop, and you will hate bikes and the people who ride them :p (jk, sorta). Seriously though, it took years but I did reach a point where I needed a break. It took a few years to get the itch back.

This is where the balancing of life and responsibilities pays off in some twisted fashion......only thing I'm burnt on is the rat race. I don't mix work with my leisure activities so that keeps me liking them. I do feel the way you feel about bikes about computers tho.

I like your setup, I have a similar ride. 2x10 105 shifters, ultegra compact crank and front shifter, xt 9 speed shifter(pre Dynasys) mated to a 10 speed xt 11-36 cassette. With Paul front brake and brooks saddle.

In the area I at...there's quite a bit of elevation. I have XX1, but my bike build is 99% done, but I never completed because of the truck and other projects. I rode for about 10 miles and now thinking of upgrading already the cassette to E thirteen or going to 12 speed. I'll have to sell the whole drivetrain mostly to do this.

Going with 30T and 10 speed with a 11 - 42 would be tough. When I had my old bike it was a 3x9 and I was in granny gear quite a bit with climbs in my area. I'm so happy with 1X, but really want more range... For street or flat trails...I think 10 speed or 11 speed will work, but I still want another gear or two.

Bought this 26" Stumpjumper evo from a guy who thought he needed a 27.5". I like to prey on the weak. I commute 20+ km a day to work on it and trail ride in Alberta/BC area.

I run a 32T with an 11 speed 10-42T cassette. There has yet to be a time that I've felt like I needed another gear (unless I'm really trying to beat my top speed of 48mph on the street - but that doesn't happen often).

I use a 28T up front with my 11-42 cassette...perhaps of my size and girth, I'm ALWAYS looking for an easier gear. =) Top speed though, I'm fine with around 20+.
    2015-10-02 11.56.16.jpg

I borrowed this last week and 30Tx11-42T hurt pretty good.
