Same deal, shitty paint (easily chipped and same light brown staining) and a crappy tranny so far for this guy. Starting to think about the ole trade-in....

I think a window tinting shop might have a contact as well. The guy who tinted my windows for me also does clear bras.

I think this is from leaving a smashed bug on the paint too long. I washed my truck yesterday and today I did some touch up work with Meguiare’s Quick Detailer on the front bumper. Sure enough under a bug stain there was a small yellowish mark that would not come off. The acids or whatever in the bug must damage the paint somehow.

I'm thinking about completely spraining the front bumper in black linex with it's UV protection, which supposedly will give it somewhat of a shine. I'll post pictures after.

Yeah I wonder if complaining to toyota would do anything. Where I park (under a tree) I get even yellow tinted bird crap. Even that along with the bugs stains my bumper. Its just frustrating.

I just found a spot like that on my Desert Sand front bumper. It just blends in better with this color I reckon. Man you are right, whatever it is seems to have blended itself with the paint, like it's under the clear coat. It's almost like the sun may have brought it out over time as I swear it was not there a month ago. I wash the truck every week, by hand, so I know where every blemish is on that truck's exterior is.

This is probably a problem with the clear coat. Of course it would be most obvious on silver and white trucks. Somebody with a black truck would never notice it.

I have a spot in the center of my front bumper about a dime in size. It showed up one day about 6 months ago, and hasn't left since.

I think the best solution to this problem is to have a bottle of Quick Detailer handy to clean off bugs and turds etc., hopefully before they damage the clear coat.

I bought my 09 DC in Aug and after my 1st road trip to Dallas for Thanksgiving I had 3 of these. But, now here in mid jan they have faded over time. I guess from all the washes and the sun light. Still sucks though. First time I noticed them I was pissed, but just let it go...now their almost faded gone and I am in the habit of immediately washing my truck upon arrival to my destinatopn and when I get home

I used to have a silver color keyed bumper on my '08 OR. Same thing. It will happen anywhere you leave bird crap or bugs on the paint. Something eats at and etches the clear coat. I used to worry about it until I scratched the crap out of the bumper wheeling.

well i just actually traded in my silver 06, when i did i must have had like 20 of those orange marks all over the bumper (i got lazy and tired of battling with the paint). I would have loved to got a silver 2010, but after that last one i went with my second choice a nice dark timberline mica...hopefully this paint will hold up
