I Just put front 5100's at the 3rd notch (1.75?) on my tacoma today. Love how they feel and look. I have a lean which I'm ok with but might want to raise the back with the Deaver 3 leaf mini pack and give it that level lifted look as well. I'm installing BFG AT KO2's and METHOS NV's tomorrow so it'll look even better.
Any complaints on your setup now that you have had more time with it? Is it still level?
Also with your Nerf bars, do they protect against door dings? do other cars doors touch the bars before your truck?

Love your truck by the way! Mine is algo MGM and will be pretty similar to yours
    Thanks!

I'm wondering what the real differences are between the 5100's set at 1.75 w/stock springs. Compared to the 5100's set at zero w/885's. Is there much difference. Seems most are happy with the ride quality at 1.75. Will it be better off road manners, or on road with the 885's. Same 1.5" of lift I believe. Just for the record, my truck is a trdordc4x4. I use mine as a hunting and camping rig. Light to medium offroading a few times a year. Thanks. I'd love to hear from someone who switched from 1.75 to the 885's at zero.

885 coils with 5100's are way better. I am not a fan of preloading. Plus, OME coils are cheap $170 range or a bit less. Some people are getting 1.5-2 inches depending on truck configuration(aka cab/motor models +- ). Let the coil do the height, not the shock.

I'm running 887 coils with a simple deaver add-a-leaf, you won't regret it.

I was thinking the deaver MiniPak. I'm really only seeing the wheelers and the icon and the head strong ones. where are people buying the deaver mini pack. Or are they all pretty much the same.

I don't want to ruin the stock ride with heavy stiff tires and massive suspension components. I like the ride soft and comfortable. I only want to improve it if that is even possible to really do. I'm not going to be adding a bunch of bullshit to my truck like plate bumpers and light bars or rotopax. It's a daily driver first and a truck I use for running a guided hunt business on weekends...it is not going to be a mall crawling "expedition" truck with beadlocks, a 6" lift and 35" tires. I'm past that age of my life now. :D

I hear you. I travel a lot of miles to shoot birds and furry things. Need a truck to get me and the dogs from point a to b, sometimes up shitty ass roads far, far away from other human beings.

I'm taking my stock truck up to a few places where I hunt for mountain grouse. If it makes it there in stock form without much issue I'm done. Good M+S tires on spare rims and good to go.

Plus my co-pilot doesn't like to climb 5ft to get in my rig...

I'm in the exact same boat as you with looking at the 5100's with 885 coils. I will have an icon progressive AAL in the back, and I am trying to decide between 885 and 887. I am looking to keep a slight amount of rake and also don't want to preload the stock coils. As of now I think I am going with the 885 but it's hard to come across a 4x4DC with the setup I am looking for it seems

thats a beaut of a setup. im also going with 285/70/17's, and this is making me rethink my setup. haha

i just installed mine at the highest notch on my 5100s, so the 2.5 and put a 1' block in the rear to level it out. I noticed everyone is putting their setup at 1.75? Any particular reasons..
i hope im not going to be running into some long term problems with being at 2.5? but it seems such a minor difference between the 1.75 and 2.5

It's riding a stiffer for the good though. When I take speed bumps it doesn't go back and forth and jumps around like the stock shocks but rather "eats" the bumps if that makes any sense.

Looking good. I've got my front 5100s on the way from wheeler off road, but i don't think its going to make it here before Canada Post is on strike. I'll set it at .85" for now. I may
spring for fox coilovers in the spring. I'm not sure if I will get 5100s for the back for a bit. It all depends on the front stance at .85. I need to start saving for BFG KO2s as they are winter rated and
    I get an insurance discount.

Hi guy I am new to posting on here but i have some questions. I am pretty new to modding my own vehicle and this is my first new vehicle so i need some advice. I plan on putting on a CBI off-road front bumper and winch with a VooDoo Bed-rack and On board compressed with a ~2" suspension lift and maybe a 1" body lift. Essentially building a bad ass Overland Vehicle I can take anywhere. I don't think i need Icons but i would like to put a decent lift on. So do you think building my own lift kit with Bilsteins adjustable 5100s and Dakar Add a leaf would be better than buying the ARB Old Man Emu 2" lift kit? If so should i use Bilstein Coils or OME?

    Front weight ~190lbs
    Rear weight ~ 140lbs

This sums it up. People listen to what @0uTkAsT said. Except the one typo on the 886s being 860 pound spring rate. They are 660pound.

That's was a lot of typing, so one typo is not bad.

Thank you for all that info i just wasn't sure if 2" lift would be enough for 35s but as i said before i am new to all of this and want to build my truck up right. ill have to start pricing out the 5100s build and extended brake lines sounds like a good learning experience.
