Not to pop your bubble; however, if you read earlier in this thread, this 'TSB' has been rumored to be coming out, off-and-on, for quite some time....IMHO, just another way to put you off, as there is no fix.....right before I traded mine in on 6/23, I confirmed with Toyota that they still believe this is 'functioning as designed' and not an issue. That was my final straw to just taking the trade hit.

I hope, for everyone's sake, that you were actually given something valid; however, I'm skeptical...

If someone claims TSB, you should ask to see it in writing -- what is the TSB # for instance

Unfortunately I didn't think to ask for the STB number, however they gave me the case number for the call to Toyota. It was the service manager that spoke to me directly. I'll give Toyota a call and see if they can give out the TSB number. My invoice for today says ""Engineer currently working on a resolution".

Also, my problem is the rumble strip vibration between 20 - 25 mph. I don't have the more annoying constant vibration problem.

Question.... For all of you with the vibration issue, what tires have you got?

had stock, went to bfg ko2's - both set of tires have the same issue.

Put the bfg's on the stock wheels, same issue. went with trd pro wheels, same issue.

    for me, tires/wheels changed nothing.

Took it to a different dealer, they swapped wheels with two different tacomas and apparently it resolved the vibration. I have it back at the dealer I purchased from and they have agreed to change the tires out and have supplied me a rental in the meantime. The original tires were Firestone Destination LE, cautiously optimistic here but here's hoping. The tires balanced and were road force balanced so it seems it's a manufacturing defect, no visible flat spot, broken belt, etc.

Tires unfortunately aren't the issue (wish they were) - it has to be engine mount and/or exhaust related. Long and short, our steering wheels and gas pedals are mounted to the firewall. If we can somehow dampen that area, we may find some relief. Either way, still wouldn't address the root cause of the problem.

Any other folks out there who haven't spoken yet? Would like to keep this thread going with any newcomers who may have any feedback from any recent visits to their dealers. At this point, I'd be happy if we caught wind of a TSB before year ending or pre-2017 model release..

Did you have the same buzzing vibration in the steering wheel (or gas pedal) around 1900 to 2300 RPM?

If tires resolved your issue (which is great), this may be different from the vibrations others are experiencing. The way it's been explained is that the vibrations are RPM dependent, not speed, therefore it doesn't seem tires wouldn't resolve these vibrations.

I believe it may be a different vibration, I have the rear end 'vibration' buts it's more like an out of balance tire and I only feel it at highway speeds (110km/h -120km/h) and not at an RPM range in all gears like the topic being discussed here. Would be nice if it were that easy, I would get new tires tomorrow. At least your dealer is doing something with the tires, mine rebalanced and the said "it's a truck" and the engine vibration I feel is "normal". I know what a truck should drive and feel like and If they bothered to ask they would know this is truck #4 (3 were Toyota) for me and the only one with issues.

Mine definitely was RPM related while at highway speeds. I'm curious to see if the replaced tires actually fix it as two techs had previously said they thought it was engine mount related and then driveshaft. The one dealer who initially said they were balanced now says they are replacing two of the tires based on them now not being able to balance so they assume those are the culprits, I'm fairly certain a portion of this problem is dealership related. On the up side, contacting the media did seem to change the tune I was getting from Toyota head office, anyone else in Canada at least getting a run around it may be worth s shot.

Sorry, but the vibration issue (or nuisance since I am now a believer that this really is inherent to the design of this vehicle) this thread talks about is at too high of a frequency to be tire/wheel related. They would have to be spinning a lot faster to reach that frequency.

Also tire/wheel issues aren't RPM related. But hopefully for you your issue was not what is in this thread and your vibration problem is fixed!

So where is the vibration coming from? When the engine breaks in it settles and the vibration comes from the engine shifting between Atkinson and Otto cycles to save fuel. This engine came from the Lexus which uses both electronic and hydraulic engine mounts. Cost is less to use rubber. [GM uses hydraulic].

My truck was deemed "not repairable" and Toyota owns it.

Yes--sad to say. Really enjoyed the truck [less the vibrating pedal / wheel].
