Look for a mom-and-pop soul food place. I find that the locally-owned "dives" tend to have the best food.

 

There used to be this place called C5 Steakhouse where i grew up in Westlake (right next to Mr. C's icecream) - Have not been able to find any place like it

 

There's no looking for local here. I've lived here most of my life and it's a town with a 25k population... I know whats here and what's not... if I want local I can have BBQ or Mexican or Italian or home cooking. Besides, I only get 30 mins for lunch. That's barely enough time to drive across the highway to taco bell and scarf it down and come back

Taco stands in Mexico too. That shit may not be beef, but it sure tastes good

 

The closest thing to that we have a is a taco trailer in the parking lot of the antique mall. It's called taco city and its dope as fuck
