How is everyone securing there bed mat so it doesn't get blown out at the car wash(during dryer/blower at end)? I had one in my 2007 Tacoma and it blew out in the car wash several times. I'm on the fence on buying another for my 16 Sport and would like your input before I decide. Thanks

    Tonneau cover. Works every time.
Seriously though, if you have the tie down points in the bottom of the bed, just use bungie cords.

Towards the cab there will be two bed mounting bolts in each corner of the bed. Remove the bolts, drill out two matching holes in the bed mat and reinstall the bolts through the bed mat.

that mat weighs a few pounds... you must have some serious dryers at that car wash!!!!!
You can use a bolt to secure it on one of the drain holes in the bed.

+1 on the Tonneau cover - didn't your TRD Sport come with one?? I think they are included with the sport package.....I'd be asking the dealer about that! Just sayin...

That goes for me also. But I believe there's a thread on here on how to tie or secure it.

I drive mine through at least 5 different car washes. Bed mat stayed put. Maybe your 2007 bed mat was lighter? There are some drainage holes in the bed some people use to put bolts through to "secure" the bed mad from theft. Maybe it would also keep the car wash from stealing it.

I'd say if it's light enough to blow out at a car wash, just take it out before you go through and put it back in afterwards. That way your bed gets a better cleaning, too.

Even better, avoid the horrors that a drive-through car wash does to your truck – wash it yourself!

Been washing trucks and cars in tunnel washes for 20 years from 2003 Tacoma to 2011 BMW and Denali. Never had a problem, no damage, no issues with clear coat. Of course it's probably better if you want to spend an hour of time washing and drying your own car. I don't have time for that shit. People are super anal about their vehicle paint. If you have a black ferrari and want it to look perfect all the time, then yea Pay a detail guy or buy all the ChemicalGuys car wash stuff for 100's of dollars and wash it yourself. People overreact about this in my opinion. It's a $35K-$40K truck you're going to take off road or haul stuff around with not a Lambo. At the same time it isn;t like its going to sandblast the damn paint off your car. :rofl:people crack me up

I can't imagine a car wash lifting my bedmat. That thing is crazy heavy.

That being said, where are you going that's strong enough to lift out bed mats? That sounds like my kind of automatic car wash.

It has happened to me also. Hence the bolt :p It's the overhead jet dryers that sway back and forth that swooped it up.
