I installed my cool white LED's this weekend.

I decided to mount the switch next to the passenger cubby storage compartment.
    IMG_8983.jpg

Mounting the LED strips is very easy. Mounting the switch and making the connections was also easy. The only small issue was trying to find the right spot to drill the self-tapping screw for the ground wire. The photo in the instructions looked nothing like what I was looking at. I might have had the photo upside down. Who knows?:D
I just made sure I was using a metal plate behind the bumper, and made sure I didn't drill through anything I shouldn't be.
As I've heard others here say, the hardest part of the install is routing the power wire from the switch to the battery. I spent about 3 hours total on the install. About 2 was routing the power wire. I ran my power wire along the wiring harness starting along the bumper from passenger to driver side(wiring harness goes along the driver's side on 2016). When you get to the fuel tank, you'll have to improvise because the wiring harness "disappears" above the fuel tank. At this point I routed the wire through the frame itself until I somehow got it to feed to the front of the fuel tank through the frame itself. After that you can route the power wire alongside the wiring harness again until you get to the firewall just before the engine. You'll have to have your hood open by this point to figure out how to route the power wire to the battery. I'm no mechanic, so it's hard to explain how I got the power wire to route from this point. I basically ran the power wire up the "firewall" until I could reach it while standing under the hood. I continued routing along the wiring harness under the hood until I got right next to the battery. I attached the inline fuse, then slowly and safely connected the inline fuse to the positive battery post. Turn the switch on, and wah-la! :bananadance:

I really like the how these light look, and have received multiple compliments.

Would love to pick up a "warm white" kit from you this coming weekend before your sale ends, I'm in San Jose a few days a week for school. Looks like a great mod

My remote stopped working, but the button installed in the bed still works. The light on the remote comes on so I think the battery is good. All wiring and connections appear good. Any ideas?

Cool idea! Do you instruct folks to glue the strips to the bottom of the bed rails or just snug under them? Reason I ask is that the bottom rail has drain holes that would be plugged with the strip if glued to the bottom or am I missing something?

The light strips are surprisingly very narrow and come with upgraded adhesive tape on the back, no glue needed. They don't completely cover the holes, also the rail end caps are plastic and water could drain that way.

I have (2) light kits installed on my rails and never had a drainage problem. 1 cool and 1 warm white for customer demonstrations.
