For the rear, not a bad choice. Lighter weight, slightly improved departure angle (especially with hitch relocation). Depends on what you intend to do with your truck.

 

I mean, its 1k new, plus PC which is probably $100, but yeah I don't see $300 in shipping. Maybe $100 tops on it. I'd say maybe $1200 total spent. Still a $400 savings. Unless he ordered it when they premiered it and got free shipping or something. Seen that shit before.

 

It's basically what I'm looking at, I just would rather throw my money at other things currently. I don't plan on doing some hardcore rock crawling, but want a better departure angle and a little more clearance.

My direction is DD/light expo, not crawling/can I prove something. With a LWB and currently no locker, I'll do whatever I can to save weight and increase general capability. Plus that big, fat, chrome stock bumper is bugging the shit out of me. But until that rear bumper actually stops me from doing something I want to do, it is hard to justify this expense, especially when I still need to get the lift sorted out.

I agree. So far I've only really dragged the rear bumper a couple times lightly on the bottom from going up something to steep. Right now focus is on getting electrical all hooked up, skids, painting everything properly, then probably paying some shit off before I throw more money in to her.

I get why people get aluminum armor, but I'd never do it. Even as a "just in case" because once it gets hit pretty good, it's done. At least with steel you might have a chance at bending it back to form. But even still the force it takes to break a piece of aluminum armor will not do shit to a piece of steel armor - except maybe lose some paint. Which is why I rattle can all my armor, but thats andifferent story lol

 

Lots of good choices out there for steel rear bumpers with integrated hitch that don't weigh any more than the stock bumper + factory hitch. No weight savings, but no penalty either.

 

anyone else going to need superbump spacers? Im making mine and i know ill have leftover board. Ill cut and ship/deliver for you guys.

Yeah, I was looking at the CBIs and some others. I'd like an integrated hitch way up high, behind plate is good, but don't need to cut the sides. That's a CBI, right?
