Bought my truck about a month ago. I was looking under the hood today and there are alot of dangling electric tape that has become unraveled.. is it just me? Being as OCD as I am it bothers the hell out of me...

Any of you guys had to Retape them yourself?

I think a lot of that tape was to hold wires and stuff out of the way during assembly. I seen tape here and there on mine too, but was not the normal black "electrical" tape....

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
There's some wrapping a lot of the loom going into the firewall on a 2nd gen. It's all tight and tacky as shit though if you mess with it.

That's some pretty weak quality control if that's what that is

Take it to the dealer and complain or check if it's still tacky and wrap it all back up yourself. Depends how dirty you feel like getting.

What do you mean Toyota doesn't have magic adhesive electrical tape which holds up to offroading and heat and other adverse conditions?! I PAID FOR MAGIC TAPE AND A TESTICLE WARMER. I WANT WARM BALLS AND STICKY TAPE (separate) GOD DAMN IT.

That being said, why tape it at all if it isn't going to hold up for even 10k miles and 6 months? Perhaps better QA could be rendered. Perhaps a better method to secure the tape could be used. Again most likely NBD...

I am very curious how many other vehicle forums you're a member of with 3,000 posts? If you think only the 2016 Tacoma has problems off the factory... boyo boy.

What difference does that make? I'm not here to compare. I'm here to discuss the topic of the forum, the Tacoma.

You keep acting like this is the only vehicle ever that has problems.
