Anybody Know Where To Get Ammo Cans?

I wanna buy like 7 or 8 ammo cans to turn into a tool box. I'm lookin for the ones that are about 18 inches tall to 12 inches tall. My plan is to weld them side to side, cut out the inner walls then weld the lids together.

Army / Navy Surplus stores or Gun shows is your best bet.

 

are you going to keep alllllll the latches functional? haha that's a lot of latch opening to find a bottle opener!

Definitely check Costco. $20 for a .50 and .30 cal. Not mil surplus but good seals and will fit your application.

 

I also have some 40mm ammo cans that are pretty tall. Might actually work better for you than a .50 or .30 cal.

 

That's also what I was thinkin. I couldn't store too much in .50 cal containers...

 

Yeah for sure! Maybe even a write up haha Not till after I put my turbo on however. You can only chew so many elephants at once!

 

I feel like the "fat" .50 cal boxes would be best...
