I can add that I ordered my first Tacoma about 3 weeks ago and thought it would be a 2016 but I got a call on Monday from the dealer that it will be a 2017 and should arrive in mid-August. I don't have a build date but I would expect that it would be in production in another week or two.

My 17 has a set build date of 8/8/16. This is alongside my dealers non-consumer orders (dealer trucks). I was told mine will be the first consumer 17 model that they will see.

I ordered mine early June and they sent me a build sheet on the 8th stating it was a 2016 with a build date of June 28th. I got an email Wednesday stating that it was in freight status set to arrive late this month. Either it is going to be one of the last 16's or a 17. The build sheet doesn't help much since it uses a temporary serial number and not a VIN so I can't verify the year that way.

Mine does as well, just curious that I ordered mine around the same time as other people and it shows a 2016. I must have slipped in right at the end of the 16 build cycle. It seems odd that they'd be building both at once, in my experience most factories usually have a three to four week gap to retool for the new model year.

I ordered my 2017 on 5/5 and the dealer gave me an ETA of mid August. Of course I was flamed then told I was a liar and how that could never happen.

It would make sense that parts for the 17's may have began production at that time. The trucks are just assembled with the parts already made on the assembly line.

Thanks everyone I'll check in with my dealer to see just by chance if for 2017 a manual can be ordered in an AC other than Sport and if so order it. If not I suppose an Off Road auto or Sport manual or possibly as GMC Canyon heaven forbid.

I ordered a DCLB TRD OR with Tech end of April. Just go confirmation today Toyota accepted it and it will be a 2017.
