Multiple times to Phuket and Pattaya Beach in the 80's and 90's, was even stationed in the Philippines for a bit, no Benny boys or he-she's for this drunken sailor.

Not sure if this has been said or not, but there is a reason for the tape to be dangling (sometimes). It's for ease of access if the tape ever needs to come off, instead of the tape being a PITA to remove.

Yep, four West Pacs in five years before 1991. After some shore duty I jumped to the East Coast and tromped around the Mediterranean. Nothing at all like the fun I had in Asia.

Tailhook took alot of the fun out of the Navy.

I went on 84, 85, 86, and 1/2 in 88' went shore duty till 90'. Had a family so I got out. My eldest son joined after high school, on his last West-pac I got to do the Tiger Cruise, man what a blast and as a kicker I got to pin on his ESWS:bananadance:

    That's pretty damn cool.

I did 22 years then retired, contracted to the DoD for a few years til I was picked up as a civil service tech rep.

I still ride ships a few times a year and get a couple of cat shots and traps on the carriers and a few helo or small boat rides if I have to go out to a small ship in the battlgroup.

Still a lot of fun but I'm not as young as I used to be. Maybe another 10 years before I hang it up for good.
