And deprive yourself of of all that knowledge? There is some high brow stuff in there. Maybe start somewhere in the middle, I don't think most of us have been here from the start.

Speaking of, how long has everyone been on this forum (gym thread specifically)? I bought my Taco in April '15 and joined TW at the same time. Wasn't long before I found this thread...

Hey good info. At least that's a start for me. I've gone through the first 10 pages or so of this thread but I'll keep digging and see what other stuff I can find.

As far as my protein intake goes, i drink a boost shake with 15g of protein in the morning and some belvita snacks. And salads for lunch that have 5-12g of protein. So I'm roughly 20g per day, but should I be intaking more? I think I used to be at 25g + when I was hitting harder in my youth I just cant remember.

20g of protein a day ?????? No freaking way.

I take in at a minimum 200g of protein. My breakfast has 60grams alone. My split is 230p/115c/85f= 2100 calories a day. When I got back to lifting everything stays the same except carbs go to 250-300 depending

I'm mexican, so the carbs come free because my mother in law lives with us
Is muscle milk any good? I could probably get that stuff paid for by work since they sell it at walmart and i can use my per diem to buy stuff there.

I used to be a rep for them in college. It tastes awesome but honestly there's better macro profiles out there. If I recall the protein was to low for the fat/calorie trade off.

On gold standard is my favorite protein powder. I eat a lot of protein throughout the day so I just take a scoop post workout at night.

    Current preworkout is Mr Hyde.
Current Protein is Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% whey.

If you're only taking in 20g protein a day, you're doing it way wrong. Need to be around 1-1.5g per lb of body weight. I try to eat 250, and I'm 150 lb currently.

The gut is tricky. The easiest way to get rid of it is change your diet. We've all heard "abs are made in the kitchen" which is true for the most part. Some people can eat whatever the hell they want and keep a 6 pack. Not me. I have to go low carb in order to have decent abs.

Also, do HIIT or some form of interval cardio. Intervals burn more fat than steady state cardio. Lift heavy on your compound movements (i.e. Bench, deadlift, squats) to help build up your core. I know a lot of guys that never work abs but have a great stomach because of their compound lifts.

As far as doing legs more, I'll never tell you to do legs less. Lol. I try to hit them twice a week. Science says your body releases more testosterone when you hit legs (bigger muscle group, so the body needs to release more to make up for it), so, more testosterone being released, body working harder, more fat being burned.

what is your macro break down currently? Have you ever calculated it? The fastest way for me to burn fat is a high protein, low carb, medium fat diet. It helps me lean up. But, just Eat at a caloric deficit and you'll lose weight, I promise.

Best BCAA's? These "unflavored" ones I got from Zach are actually shit flavored, but I finally got them down.

Amino Energy helps throughout the day because it's got a little caffeine in it. I have enough caffeine in my pre, I don't need any more. I took Amin.O energy when I first started in the gym. It's delicious. But, I stick with Jym now.
