Has anyone changed their ATF with Maxlife and added a bottle of Lubegard Red? I've heard good things about lubegard but was courious if anyone has added it.

    Thanks

    Just my 2 cents.

I would not change the ATF to anything other than what Toyota recommends 'til you're out of warranty.

Yeah, yeah, I've heard about Magnuson-Whatever.

Did you change all of the WS out and put in only MaxLife?

Also you shouldn't need Lubegard Red if you use MaxLife.

You should be fine, but I personally would have stuck with WS until I was out of the powertrain warranty.

I flushed the tranny at 42K miles (10+ years) with Maxlife using 16 quarts to flush. I then added Lubguard Red a couple hundred miles later. I noticed a difference with the Lubeguard, not a huge difference but noticeable. With my foot on the brake it shifts into reverse or drive with no feeling at all. Also the shift into 5th at low speeds has smoothed out. The two AT temp readings are a couple degrees lower.
Right now and 11K plus miles later the transmission is very smooth and new feeling.

I've got a bottle of red sitting in the garage. I just ordered the platinum.

    Is the Platinum WS compatible?
