I bought a go pro just for the mount. Filmed some awesome stop and go traffic near my house this morning.

    I'll take one.

Or the 2017 3.5L EcoBoost for that matter. Friggin 450 lb.-ft off that thing!

Not that I need it. But it sure would be fun. The poor Tacoma engine as it stands can't even break the tires loose on launch or maintain highway speeds without going into 4th for that matter.

I just went in there.... some guy asked if removing a single leaf from the leaf pack would lower the rear end...

I should have replied, "Yeah, remove the big one..."

Yes: Radar detector, dashcam, ham radio faceplate, GPS are just a few of the items I may have remembered people mounting there. Or I could be mixed up. Just buy a cheap GoPro mounting clip and then adapt whatever you want (within reason).

I use the GoPro mount for a... GoPro when I'm on an interesting trip. It's a decent, useable shot. Millennials can turn the camera around to take 1080p60 footage of themselves being awesome if the need arises.

Though, I would trade it all and use a suction cup for the GoPro if I could get the magic unlock/lock door handle on the passenger side also.

Windshield wiper defroster. I have it on my Highlander and I use it a lot every time my wipers are stuck during those -30C temps in the winter.

What the hell is this winter you speak of?

    Is that when it rains?

It could be useful for freezing rains too. But it is usually after driving the vehicle and then parking it for a few hours and the wipers stick to the windshield. That is because the interior of the vehicle is warm and the outside is frigid.

I'd happily trade for one or two USB ports hidden in the center console.

    Or

Rear air vents for the kids & dog.

    Or

More upward tilt range on the steering wheel.

Any/all would be better for me than the mount.

There are rear air vents in the doublecabs. Maybe not particularly good ones, but they're there.

And, I have a USB port in my center console.

I meant rear air vents with adjustable orientation mounted in the back side of the center console or mid-height in the b-pillars. That's what I want. Vents at foot level don't count in my book.

I've always thought of those rear vents to be very inefficient. The ductwork is never insulated and they are like 12 feet long to get there. The air going back there loses or gains a lot of energy

That's very true. It's a matter of proper design. Luckily the interior volume of the Tacoma isn't huge and the front vents get things cooled off reasonably quickly.
