This is 1 of the con on the truck. More pros outweigh the issue so thats why I bought the truck

Wait...the double cab has it on both sides? Is this like how the AC, for some random reason, doesn't have the bed light?

No, the door handle sensor is only on the driver's side for double cabs too.

I really hate when people say this. So what if its a truck? Trucks cant have these options as well?

F150 has the option for it. Silverado as well. Heck I think even the new Ridgeline has it.

I swear my quick reference guide says "grasping passenger handle unlocks doors" or something like that....I've gotta go back and find it.

Not sure what this even means. There are full size trucks that are loaded to the gills with all the crap Lexus throws into their top end models.

Here folks we have an example of why Toyota split their pickup line in the 90s, giving the US the more dainty and refined Tacoma while the rest of the world continued to (and still does to this day) get the more rugged Hilux.

i'm not one of them, five cars out in the garage or in the driveway and not a hybrid in the bunch.

I've got two Tacos though so I'm used to hitting the FOB button twice to open all the doors.

"Grasping front passenger door handle will unlock all doors"......must only be on certain trim levels.

Oops... looks like someone copied and pasted from another owner's manual when they were writing that part.

Or it was a late deletion or something. I wonder if the wiring is there for it.

That isn't from the 2016 manual. Drivers door only. Grasp to unlock touch to lock. My 11 4Runner limited had it on both front doors.

    From my manual:

I remember the days you actually had to use a key to open the door. There was no buttons/smart keys then. Manual keys are such a pain, can't technology do everything for us yet...geez.

If you're referring to the photo I posted, it's from page 8 ( i think) of the 2016 Tacoma Quick Reference guide. I'm guessing there must have been some revisions to the manual and those changes weren't made in the quick reference guide. That's the only thing I can think of...
