I was leaning that direction, but I've gotten water in the cab before. Didn't want to have that much juice sitting in a low spot of the truck, and also didn't want to block the vents to the back seat.

I used the back seats storage for that type of equipment.

There's tons of room under the dash. I had rather large crossovers and used velcro to mount them to the painted parts above each kick panel. I wanted to preserve the under seat storage as I already lost the space behind the rear seats with the amp/ sub.

How's that 10" Pioneer shallow-mount sub working out?
Does rear seat fully close w/o mods?

I've been waiting to hear how @hookembevo s build is sounding too. What's going on with it man?

Sorry guys. Stereo sounds incredible. Pioneer shallow mount sub sounds great and seat fully closes with no touching. This is definitely a great solution if you're looking to keep all of the truck intact.

I drilled 1 hole with grommet for the sub side and 3 holes in the drivers side for routing all wiring. You can't see any of them when you flip the seat backs forward. Your ears will hurt before this one hits full volume, and the sound is nice and clean on all types of music. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I did not do a build thread. I added some info to this one with a few pics of my specific installation. I did receive offline help from several on this thread including OP and I'm happy to provide help to those going through the install. The wiring of the speedwire to the metra harnesses is well documented here, and should be a great starting point for those who go down this path. I also recommend looking at the OEM Audio video (below) for info on removing panels, etc.

If you (or anyone) need help, please reach out. I'm happy to continue passing along what I learned, just as many of you have helped me.

Thanks for the post; Doing my system this weekend & wanted a "helping hand" or how-to with the setting-up part of the metra-->speedwire connections.

Saw the table & diagram with pin/wiring, but still kinda confused. I'm clueless like that...

I think pics (or a drawing) for me would be helpful.

Thanks to you & any that wish to chime in.

Haha. I know how you feel. I seriously went over the steps of my install every night as I was falling asleep for a couple of weeks before I got started. I followed the steps on page 7 of this thread. Plugged it up and everything worked perfectly.

    Holler if you get stumped.

I actually worked a little bit on my truck today before I felt like I was going to have a heat stroke. The thermostat in my garage saith it was 104. But anyway I made the little shelf in the drivers side cubby under the rear seat. Thanks to @Aw9d for the great idea!! Now I just have to relocate my signal processor and reroute all the wires.

Least I can do for the great idea you gave me and you being willing to help me tune the system with the o-scope brotha. Anytime you want to get it the door is open or I can meet up with you somewhere.

I'm pretty busy this weekend but we can meet up during the week after work sometime. Wherever works for me as well, we are not very far from each other.

Will this require drilling a hole? I need to look at mine closer.

Just about to the point where my front seats will be coming out to finish up like the wiring. When I'm listening to music now I think ohh that will sound good with some bass and remember the song for after the install is complete

I will drill holes in the plastic to run the wires in.
