    The rear hanger has to move a good deal backwards for 63's.

    I moved forward about 1 and 1/8 inch from the forward most position. I drilled 4 new holes in the frame and 1 in the shackle hanger. I'm much happier with the angle now. :thumbsup: I'll have to check how the spring look compressed this weekend.

    does drilling new holes screw up the cross member at all? If I recall that cross member uses the rivets to fasten it to the frame. Once the rivets are gone the shackle hanger bolts take their place. Are you guys putting some bolts through the factory holes just to hold the cross member?

    It won't mess up your cross member. You should be able to get a bolt in the rear most position, if you take a look at @kumz photo post #310. I also had to bend just the corner of the cross member to get the nut on the side of the frame where I drilled the top.

    If a lot of people are moving the hangars forward, it would be awesome if the kit was designed to be able to mount like that without needing to drill additional holes.

    I agree...it'll help make sure things stay lined up on either side if you can utilize the pre-existing holes you spent hours removing rivets from. But even with more pre-drilled holes, I don't think you're going to get away from putting at least 1 or 2 new holes in the frame somewhere. The cross member does create some complications in terms of bolt placement.

    If the bracket is changed to move the hanger forward, maybe the hole pattern will be changed too to avoid the cross member. There seem to be many of us on Dakars who would like to do this. Maybe there are enough of us to warrant a Dakar specific bracket. I, for one, can wait - or maybe there's something out there that works better. Maybe one of you guys will even come up with an improved bracket and start selling them. Time will tell, and I've got time.

    I think the hole pattern could definitely be changed to miss the cross member. Either that, or the location of the hangar on the bracket could be moved a tad bit forward.

    I know ATO has one, but who's the other? I like that the Archive kit uses a regular 2 piece style shackle. I think it's a bit simpler and easy to make your own custom lengths if you need to.

    The one thing that bugged me about the ATO kit is how close some of the holes are to each other. Even to the point that the holes overlap a small amount. Not the strongest in my opinion, but I love how highly adjustable that kit is.

    Why not just weld on the shackle flip kit when you find the sweet spot? I think I saw that on @iJonny sick 2nd build. But with SOS kit.

    Welding's probably easier than drilling holes, just harder to change int he future if you get a new leaf pack or something. Not impossible tho, I may end up doing this, it eliminates any complications with the cross member.
