I have the codeable key version. It does not open as easily as OEM. OEM I could open with 1 hand. The Pop and lock, I need to push in the tailgate with 1 hand, while I pull the handle. I have not used the lock feature yet....

Same thing here, the first one I installed broke within a few week, opening the tailgate with one hand. I definitely need to push the tailgate with one hand and pull the handle with other, the replacement has lasted over a year now.

By relocating the strikes it doesn't pull/hold the tailgate in properly when using a gasket seal.

I bought my Pop a Lock on Amazon - had a failure at a year on the lock and they replaced it once I sent them my invoice. The codable locks are balky- keep them lubed and don't be too forceful with the mechanism. Overall I'm satisfied and will replace it with the same part if/when it fails again.

I have the codeable one and it works good. I find it's easier to open if I push the tailgate in with one hand and pull on the handle with the other. Doing that also puts less strain on the inside mechanism.

Got mine 6 years ago (PL5300 with its own small keys). No problems except 2 years ago the mechanism was sticking in the unlatched position. Sprayed some white lithium grease on the mechanism and it's been working smoothly since. I spray the lock cylinder with teflon lube before each winter, the same time I do the UCA uniballs.

I actually just installed the BOLT lock, it's not too bad - the instructions (at least for the conversion kit) were pretty detailed. As far as 3 days ago since it was installed I've checked it numerous times locking and unlocking and it seems to work fine for now. All you need is a little flick to lock or unlock it

Oh and also I've had my pop&lock installed since 2014 and the only hiccup I've had was when someone sprayed superglue in my lock

I've had my pop and lock for 4 years ago and I've been debating of going back to my OEM handle since I'm scared the handle won't turn one day and I have a bakflip.

Also, the handle has gotten very discolored and every time I unlock and use the handle it feels like it's going to break off.

I have the power one and it works great. It's a tad louder than I wanted it to be but I'll live.
