I installed 2.5" tapered blocks in the back of my 2016 DCSB 4x4 last night. The ride seems to be harder than it was before. Anyone else experience this after installing blocks?

I just don't get why people spend over $30,000 to $35,000 on a new truck and put garbage lift parts on them. Blocks = Junk, Spacers = Junk. Minimum of Bilstein 5100's all around, with a 3 leaf Progressive AAL in the back with overload leaf in for 2 inches, or overload leaf out for 1.5 inches.

To answer your question, yes. Literally everyone with blocks in the rear gets a rough ride from them. That's why they're generally avoided.

I put 1" blocks and a 2" AAL with the overload kept and ICON 2.0 resis. I also have Air Lifts at 12#s PSI when not towing. The truck is shoed with MT 285/70/17 BAJA ATZ P3's at 36 psi.

I do vaguely remember that the truck drove like a car when I first bought it many moons ago, but now it runs like a truck. It runs relatively stiff (not harsh) for what it is, albeit I can adjust my suspension as needed.

I think that by going straight up with 2 1/2" blocks may be the problem, as you have seriously preloaded your springs. Can your shocks take that extra travel?

You have way to nice of a truck for blocks. Pull them off and do it right.

Theoretically, you shouldn't ride any different with the blocks. Your springs are above them, and axle under them, so you are not putting any additional tension in them. Did you torque your u-bolts to the correct specs?

I thank you all for your opinions but please keep in mind, that's all the are. Saying blocks or spacers are junk and will fail couldn't be ore inaccurate. In fact my fathers 93 Grand Cherokee had 2" steel coil spacers front and rear for 150k miles over 11 years and ran flawlessly. They were still in it when he sold it. If you want to spend $3,000 on a lift, cool, I respect that but I don't. Been there, done that, built more Jeeps over the years than I can count. If I was building a truck that would be wheeled hard or really even wheeled at all, i'd drop the coin but that's not what i'm doing. Fact of the matter is, must 3500 series and some 2500 series and even some 1500 series trucks come factory with blocks. Yes stacking blocks or going with huge blocks is a no no. A small block is perfectly fine and so is a small coil spacer. My front coil spacers are about 1.5" thick. Would I put a 6" thick spacer on it like comes with some lifts out there? HELL NO, do I personally feel the spacers and blocks I have will last forever under my truck that'll never see off road use? Absolutely I do. What's kinda odd is now that the front is lifted, the back seems to have softened up some. The back is back to the way it was the day I bought it, hard and has a hop. After a few hundred miles, it settles out and softened up. Maybe that'll happen again, maybe it won't, I don't really know. I do think I want a set of factory Bilstein shocks for all corners though since i'm sure that'll help with ride quality even if it was stock. Anyone have any for sale?

You're really comparing apples to oranges there .. Leaf sprung & blocks = rough ride. Period.

That's fine, i'm ok with the ride. Like I said, I've had Jeeps lifted everywhere from 4"-8" I know what a rough ride is lol. My ram was lifted 4" on 35"s also, lifts are nothing new to me. This is the first time i'm using a 2.5" thick block though.

Not looking for vendors. Looking for someone that pulled them off their truck to install their lift. Thank you for the info though.
