Just got back from the dealer they said I definitely need the new leafs, but they are back ordered and it will be at least 30 days. My lift was set to get installed in two weeks.

OK, I got the rear springs put on at the dealers and the next day I was going along and I hear a rotational humming sound coming from the rear of the truck.
does anyone have a clue as to what it could be? The dealer says it wasn't them.

Hello all, has anyone had success with the dealer replacing the leafs and adding whatever lift you had back with no issues or extra charges? I plan to fight them on this if I must. :/

I have a truck with a lift and a recall letter (in Memphis) and am a little worried it will come back sagging in the rear after its done.

Does the TRDs come with 4 leafs as stock? Trying to figure out what kind of lift I have because I bought it this way.

Anyone with airbags had their springs replaced yet? I called and they wouldn't do the work without me first removing the air bags.

Most are getting an hour from the customer to swap an aal plus the price of a new center pin. Blocks are free and bags are also an hour. Not the techs fault it's lifted, he shouldn't lose time because of previous mods done. Theoreticaly an AAL should've voided the warranty on the leafs to begin with.

Just got mine done yesterday with the new springs and this appears to be the part number I got. Originally had the terribly undersized 2 + overload packs, a ton of negative recurve and lots of space between leafs. I go to Petersen in Fort Collins, CO, and they had to order them in, took a month from inspection to replacement.

I got my letter, made an appointment, took truck to dealer. They called me later, said that it was subject to the recall after inspection ( I thought when I dropped it off, they were going to replace them right then), and would order the parts. It's been 4 weeks, haven't heard from them. I'll call in another week. Service writer said that Toyota "made" them inspect vehicle first to see if truck is eligible, then they order parts. Sheeshh.

Had my recall/remedy done on July 6th. I wanted to give it a few days of driving before I posted and I've found the ride to be much better! Almost 75 miles of surface street and highway driving; the ride in much nicer the rear end is tighter and more stable over all. Here in Arizona we have a lot of blow outs and dodging tire debris is pretty common on the freeway. That being said at 65-70mph there was far less roll in maneuvering at speed. I checked the ride height before and after and it's remained the same. No drama at the dealership about my lift other than having to supply my own u-bolts. So far so good.

There's been a real shortage on the hardware kits. Tons of springs, no kits.

I had to wait a few weeks between inspection and replacement, too. @Tacotruck422 mentions it's hardware and they did replace the u-bolts, shackle and fixed bolts, spring bushings, the u-bolt plates under the axle and the shock lower mount hardware on mine, so that that could be it. The bump stops also looks new but it's a little hard to tell.

I got it out on some dirt roads today and the ride is greatly improved with the new packs, nothing else changed. Same original (worn out) TRD shocks and front coils. The ride is more firm, less wallowing around and it floats better over washboard now. I didn't get much lift, maybe 1/2", I'm riding more or less flat. The whole suspension is going to get torn off for the Fox coil overs and OME packs, but if I didn't already have that stuff I wouldn't be in a hurry necessarily to do it now.

deal here in HB CA is making me take them off. i would rather do it now any how. then having the dealer rush job the air bags back on or pay them.

    Thanks!

For those of you that have kids I don't know how you do it. My baby (my truck) has been back with the techs for an hour to get his leaf springs replaced. It took two months for them to come in. They are supposed to get them finished by 11:30 because I have patients from 1-7 tonight. I feel nervous and I don't have to leave in case there's news haha

It will be just fine, I promise you. 12 bolts, press 4 bushings and an alignment. He won't even be drowsy when you get him back.

Thanks for the positive thoughts in this trying time ;) I just do everything to him but they wouldn't sent me home with the leaf springs. I hope he's has some anti-anxiety medication lol

    *Update*
Called dealer to see if they could confirm the AAL I'm going to buy is compatible and if there'd be a labor charge, said they'd get back to me. Two weeks go by and I didn't hear anything so I stopped in to stir up some shit.
The rep I talked to on the phone weeks ago eventually heard me talking to someone else about my frustrations and showed me the note he wrote the day I called. He apologetically explained that he hadn't forgotten about me, that he just didn't have any answers to repot back. He was worried that the AAL won't fit in the spring clips since they doubled from 3 to 6. I informed him of the research I've been doing on the forums and we came to the conclusion:

I will purchase AAL's and bring them to my Saturday appointment on 7/30
They will determine if the AAL will work and how much labor cost if necessary
If it's more than I feel is fair, I will do the AAL's myself the next day at home

Hopefully this helps some of you, I will update after the 30th of this month. I am also going with the Toytec AAL
    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/TAC-AL--ToyTec-Rear-add-a-leafs_p_16.html
The product description states compatibility with 3-leaf packs and new TSB 4-leaf packs and comes with center pins.
    Wish me luck!
