Didn't make it to the gym after work yesterday, so I'm about to head there now for back/bis/shoulders so I don't have to go do shoulders tomorrow.

My dumb ass had sushi with my boss for lunch yesterday. I thought, since it's nothing but raw meat and rice, it'd be like 100 calories per roll, so I ate like 10 rolls. After getting back to work and googling it, I found out I consumed about 2500 calories in sushi....I'm basically only eating protein all day today.

Oh shit haha. I meant to say 135, not 315 lol. This guy's max is probably 250ish

I bet if you started fresh, I bet you could've gotten at least 3-4.

    Cool, brofessor.

Ha I saw Dane Cook live in like 2008-2009 and it was funny. Not too crazy about him anymore after all his joke stealing allegations

Textures freak me out, too. I love the flavor of onions, but the texture, I can't do. Same with oranges, grapes, and strawberries. The only foods I absolutely hate are horseradish and tomatoes.

The scorpions aren't quite ready yet, but I've picked a few habeneros and jalepenos. If they're anything like last year's ghost peppers, they're gonna be able to melt rust. So excited to make my pepper jelly.

Speaking of all this gardening shit, does anyone want any of my home-grown pickles? I've got spicy and regular in spears and chips.

Sometimes if I lean too far back, I'll strain something in that area. It only lasts for a second, but it really aggravates it when I try to pee, so I think it's one of the "peeing muscles." It makes me wanna double over when it happens, but it only happens like once every couple months and it only lasts like 30 seconds. It usually happens when I stretch in the mornings and I guess something just gets pulled too tight. Not sure if that's the same issue though.

Hell yes. I put hot sauce on everything! I love spicy food

Hey there TyT I see you have a lot of questions about working out. I'm in the military and I have a particular job where I have to stay in really good shape all the time and take special screening tests before you even get in. I was more curious about your question about supplements. I would love to know your workout goal and your diet goal because there are so many great options for both. Please be careful when taking supplements from those stores that sell them. the best supplement in the world is food and hard work. Having a diet that you can sustain for a long time with plenty of meals and foods that have lots of variety in nutrients is going to be the best! and for a workout I do a few different things but to lose weight and gain muscle weights are always going to give you great results! please feel free to message me I am very interested in what your goals are.

Haha! Dude I was watching the same show when I got back from the gym this morning. I did dead lifts and overhead press. DL working sets were 335 5x5. OHP 155 5x5. I was happy with the OHP numbers, but DL was pretty pathetic considering I pulled 465 about 3 months ago. I feel like I could've pulled a lot more but it would have been a strrruuugggglle to finsih those last couple of sets.

So, it turns out that intervals at 11 is a LOT harder than intervals at 10. I might die.

How do you run your intervals (I mean timing wise e.g. 1 min, 1 min off, etc etc)? I need to incorporate those into my routine.

Also, prowler pushes are fucking intense. I put 4 plates on instead of my normal 2 last night and my lungs were burning in places that I didn't even know existed.

    Quoting that post from 2011....nice.

Although I do agree with you that a good diet trumps supplements all day.

Welcome to the gym thread

 They're usually $3.50, but for my TacomaWorld brethren, $3, plus shipping.

The Steve Weatherford way. 30 sec on, 60 rest. By rest I mean I don't do anything. Not walking. Feet are on the side of the treadmill.

I've been doing 10 mph and up to a 5 incline. But the incline is hurting my knee. Decided to do 11 today and it's awful

Also, back to the heart rate thing. I checked mine just now after one of my intervals. I clocked it at 164. My Fitbit had me at 169 :notsure:

Totally. You don't want to go through the surgical shit again on account of foolish pride.

Nowhere near it but I got a concussion 2 yrs ago and it was murder not being able to use my weights or treadmill..but gotta listen to your body.

Think of the agony of the whole medical procedure and ask if you want that again worse..if they can. My wife had major shoulder surgery a few yrs ago and I saw what she went through.

Hard to quote multiple things from one multi-quote...

I saw Dane Cook around that time too back when he actually toured. I think it was the 'Vicious Circle' tour? Something like that...Funny dude. I've watching all his specials but his newer ones aren't nearly as good. I also don't know how much I believe the stealing material stuff. I've watched so much stand-up that you start hearing the same/similar jokes. There is only so much material...

    ....and I HATE horseradish :puke:

I do 3:1 rest:work. I read about in the fitness magazine Vitamin Shoppe puts out that they give away in their store. I've liked it a lot but I am off and on about actually doing them. Basically, for what ever time you work you rest x3. If you do 1min sprint you stand there (like Derick said, doing absolutely nothing) for 3min. Obviously the less time you are working the more intense it should be. If I do interval sprints I'll go for about 10-20min. I'll start with 30sec sprint (so I am resting 90sec) and do 5 rounds then bump up the speed and do 15sec sprints (rest 45sec) for 5 rounds then bump it up again and do 10sec sprints (rest 30sec) and do 5 rounds then finish with 5sec sprints (rest 15sec) at a stupid speed for 5 rounds. Some variation of those depending on how long I want to go. Usually at the end of a workout as a finisher

    Had a good backnbis:

    all 4 sets:

    widegrip pullups
    v-grip rows
    straight arm rope pulldowns
    v-grip rows

    all 3 sets:

    incline hammer curls
widegrip barbell curls...IN THE FUCKING SQUAT RACK (don't worry, I was literally the only person in the gym at 2pm on a Saturday)
    reverse grip ez bar curls

Now, time to go sit in the pool and drink a couple dozen whiskey and waters.

My Apple Watch heart rate monitor blows. I'll be about to keel over and it'll be like, "56 BPM." I like the watch for other reasons though.

I saw Vicious Circle, too! It was good, but I think I kinda just grew out of his comedy. It was funny at 16-21, but I just don't like it much now that I'm sooo mature.
