Caught it on a wiggle wart.
    Darker brown with some gold.
Strange the past 2 weeks. They usually are killing top water (my fav) but I went over this place twice with top water. Went through it again with the wart and he hit it about a foot down. Water was about 3 feet. Slow to medium retrieve with a pause to let it rise. Hit it just after the pause.

Got this for $3 at the flea market, it's missing the level wind. Any idea on where to get parts or how hard it would be to use without the level wind?

    It's a Penn Peer no. 209, BTW.

Interesting...I caught mine on a topwater frog and then shortly after a dinger rubber worm...Its neat to see them slam a frog or even a topwater rig.

Oh yea. Early morning, not a ripple. No wind. Pop a torpedo or a frog and just watch the water explode.
Then throw a frog deep into the weeds and tall grass.
I like watching the line move sideways when a worm is being carried. Then you have to guess how long you wait before you set the hook.

Just saw this thread. All these are from within the last few months. Mostly catfish out of my Uncles pond but got a snapping turtle too. Last one is a small mouth out of the Shenandoah
