    Hey all,

I would like to wire my hella 700's to come on with my high beams (maybe have another switch to disable them completely so if I'm driving in more populated areas just my stock highbeams come on). My question is, where can I access the wiring that goes to the high beam stalk in the cab? I would like to be able to splice into it then tie it into a separate relay for the hellas.

Okay I'm normally pretty good at this stuff, but can you give me a brief explanation here? How to you tap into the high beams? Why is using two relays necessary? Also I did the ultimate headlight upgrade with the custom harness and osram bulbs so I have an H4 connector from the old harness still hooked up and just sitting there, is there any way I can utilize that for the highbeam tap?

I have my light bar wired into my highs as well. I have them on a relay, but for the trigger for the relay, I just have an add a circuit. On the second gen under the hood, there is an individual fuse for each high beam headlight. I just tapped into that and now my light bar cones on with my highs. Not sure if that's an option for first gens.

Auto or manual trans? If auto just wire them into an old fashioned high beam switch (On the floor).

So I wired everything up and the lights come on with my low beams not high beams, the high beam tap is hooked up to the wire that was specified, and that I located using a multimeter. However they still don't come on with high beams (they come on with low and stay on). As I mentioned before I did this upgrade, which utilizes an aftermarket harness that plugs into the existing harness. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-not-led-or-hid.398066/
Also if it matters, I have a ground switched harness I believe.

Switch the tap to the wire on the socket going to the lamps, not the one coming from the vehicle harness to the relays.

The HIGH beam wire should be RED with a YELLOW stripe. Verify what color wires are going into the aftermarket harness. The low beam should be RED with GREEN stripe.
