just curious as to how fellow owners chose to acquire their G3 tacos.

From most of the posts, seems like many paid cash but the taco leases out very nicely and that's what I did after getting a fair discount.

    Anyone?

Dropped 22k financed everything remaining. Figured I could use something to keep credit rating high.

I've turned into a dude who trades in his car every year. Decided it's time to start leasing. I guess that makes me a biennial loser

I paid cash for mine, but I didn't tell them until all the price details were agreed and signed. They weren't happy, but I'm the one that needs to be happy after spending money.
    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

you must not keep an eye on used tacomas. I just saw a 2011 for more than I paid for my 2016

TRY THIS PLAN, TO GET YOUR BEST DEAL: Better, if desired truck is on the lot..
Last day of the month, holiday, few hours before closing...Dealers have to make their monthly sells quotas...
Go in with very little down payment, maybe $2K down..Sales will demand more down, stick to your guns @ $2K down...
Cash down payment, financed amount cost ratio...Dealer will have to drastically discount, lower the price of unit for banks to finance you...
Don't care about the higher monthlies, financed for five years or more, and super high A.P.R...Means nothing to you...
Dealer will sell the unit, knowing will make up $ for units high discount, on the back end over the loan payment period...
Make two monthly payments, to avoid a prepaid penalty,..if there is one..Slap the lender with cash payoff, to end it...
One feasible way, to receive a sizable discount on the highly popular Tacoma...
Do this deal only, if you have the cash at hand...

ANOTHER WAY: E-mail the Fleet Sales Manager...Most F.S.M. are open to do single unit covert sales, unknown to the floor sales persons...
    Most F.S.M. will give fleet prices on a single unit..For a F.S.M a sell is a sell..G.S.Ms. like to keep F.S.M happy...

Fair strategy but it's doable any time of the month if you tell f and I that they can sell you every piece of paper under the sun in a high ratio contract.

In the industry, it's called a 'BK UP' or bankrupt up because they assume the car may be repo'd anyway and the factory won't touch the deal.
