So here recently my truck will not blow cold air while in traffic and if I sit at an idle for 8-10 minutes with A/C on the temp will start to creep up. Got so bad the other day I pulled over turned the truck off and popped the hood for 20 minutes. The temp gauge was on the second line. While cruising A/C blows cold and temp stays good. This leads me to believe its a cooling system issue. Plan to take it to the dealer next week when I return from vacation. Just curious if anyone else has/is experiencing this?

Do you need to know, or care?
Yup, would guess thermostat, but take it to dealer. That's why you have a warranty.

Auto. It has a fan clutch no electric fan. It just started doing this about 400 miles ago. Truck has right at 2000 miles. A/C blew cold all the time until then. I've checked the front and under the hood for possible blockage from debris, however its clear.

I'll keep this updated with what the dealer says when I drop it off. No way they can give me the run around and call this "normal", hopefully.

No CEL. Yeah, figured if it was an A/C system issue it would be all the time. It seems to be more of a cooling system issue to me with the way its acting. I did notice the other day while going over it the fan clutch when the truck was "hot" didn't seem to move alot of air at idle.

My ac went completely out they found it was just a loose connection on the ac wire harness. Hopefully yours is simple like mine was. Also I had my ambient temp sensor replaced because it was reading way off like -13 degrees when it was like 90 degrees out.

^^ This, or something related to the fan clutch. It would explain why everthing is normal while cruising (sufficient airflow through the A/C heat exhanger/rad and engine rad due to truck moving).

Uhh, the v6 has a pulley fan and clutch.

Your fan clutch may not be engaging all the way, so it looks like the fan the spinning but it's just spinning to slow when the vehicle is stopped and no air is being forced into the grill.

We idled for hours yesterday in the 100 degree desert with the AC on. The AC blew cold the whole time and temp gauge never moved. I assume you have a problem

Yeah prior to whatever issue I'm having it would sit in Houston traffic on a 100 degree day and stay cold. Strange thing is I can here the fan clutch moving air when I apply throttle and it is "hot". I don't recall being able to hear the fan clutch like this prior to my issue. Hopefully my dealer actually helps and doesn't give me the run around.

Idle it in the dealers lot and show them how the temperature goes up. They can't deny that

So I'm a dumbass. Couple weeks back we went wheeling. I went through a decent hole that was filled with a sort of thick mud filled water. It splashed up over the hood and proceeded to get into through the grill and coat everything under the hood. I thought I had cleaned it all, however I didn't. Service department couldn't get it to duplicate my problem, I honestly don't think they tried very hard. So when I got it home last night I was going over it and noticed the whole bottom and majority of the right side of the condenser was still covered. Took it to the power wash and hit it hard until the water ran clear. There was a lot of mud/dirt left in there. A/C seems to be working great now. That's a lesson learned for this new wheeler.

^Wonder if certain off-road bumpers hinder A/C performance, since they block off about half the condenser area?

The condenser covers the entire front of the grill area. I doubt it and most of the bumpers only cover the lower intake, which is small
