Mine is on the bed rail right behind the cab in the center. I also run a 4', but pretty much only put it on when going on interstate or wheeling. It doesn't clear anything if it's on (drive-throughs, parking garages, my garage). They're top load antennas, so technically 2/3 is still above the cab... :D

Driving up to Boulder around noon, there was no smoke visible so I was hopeful for Nederland. Coming home a few hours later looks like the fire found some legs again. Sucks!

I can see the massive plume of smoke from here. And a friend that lives up Coal Creek Canyon said it jumped some road a few hours ago. No bueno.

So my front drivers side suspension has a single clunk mostly when off-road, articulating. It did it after the last set of shocks were installed (by me). I checked bolts and everything I touched was tight. I thought it might've been the non OEM lower shock bolt being a slightly different size since the OEM one got junked up and had to be cut off (there was plenty of room to cut, no damage to the mount on the LCA). That was replaced with OEM, and I put new shocks in again. The clunk is still there. It doesn't happen on every bump, or every time it flexes out, but it happens a bit. Washboard roads wont do it unless I am slamming on the brakes while on a washboard road. Single thunk, drivers front area. It has also been aligned after the clunk started with no change. The only thing that has changed in the setup (other than two sets of OME shocks) was the addition of the trim packer.

Could it be a ball joint? If so, any way to test it/confirm? Boots on top and bottom look fine. I've tried to wiggle it by holding the tire, cannot recreate the noise when under the truck. When doing the shocks I only touch the upper three bolts for top hat, lower shock bolt, sway bar mount, end link, and the two large bolts on the bottom of the knuckle.

Only aftermarket stuff in the front end is the OME spring/shock.

Several arrests were made in connection to said fire...both suspects are from Alabama. Beaver Creek fire has grown to 1000 acres. Another fire at I70 and 470. Fire near Coaldale forcing camper evacations.

What's so bad about these fires? The forests with all their dead fall and beetle kill need to burn.

Owning property in fire prone areas is a risk those people choose to make.

1,000 acres? It's close to 17,000. Been keeping a close eye on that one as it's an area I like to frequent. Also a heavy beetle kill area.

I have to agree with brett. Fire is just nature's way of cleaning up the forests.

I agree but the fire being started by two careless idiots isn't natural. And three homes have been lost with more probably on the way. That sucks.

The forest these neighborhoods are built in shouldn't be overgrown or unhealthy. It should be mandatory that residents mitigate their own property as well as the entire neighborhood. In my opinion at lest.

The shit deal is the FS uses the fire as an excuse to close the roads that travel through the burn area. Then it takes an act of god to re-open them, if at all.

I won't disagree with you on those facts. I does suck that people lost their homes and idiots started the fire. Their are rules that people are suppose to but they think they are ok.

Insurance telling them that they are not covered since they didn't follow the rules would fix that attitude up real nice-like. But... feelers would be hurt, cant do that in 'Merica these days. :bananadead:

Sorry, I meant that it expanded by about 1000.

And as others have mentioned, I'm more aggravated by the supposed causes than anything else. I make a lot of mistakes, but they're backed by knowledge and affect me and me alone.

If land is open to the public, and the FS encouraged public land use, then camp grounds and their surrounding areas will have less brush and small timber to burn.

I remember camping as a kid and it being a PITA to find good wood for the fire pit. Responsible land use is how these types of fires are prevented, not by leaving the land untouched so hundred to thousands of acres can burn in hours... Unless that's what you want to happen.
