Like I said, no need to rush. Think about it for a while and do some research. It took a long time for me to decide what wheels and tires I liked and then I changed my mind a couple times and came back full circle. There are so many options out there it really makes choosing one difficult.

The thing that won me over was the fact that the BFG KO2 is highest rated all terrain tire for rain snow and ice. I was also considering the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs which I think were #2 and also have an aggressive look but I saw some mixed reviews for them.

would that be because of all the snow and ice you get at the beach?

When we get just a forecast of snow they shut everything down. We have so much water around us that it tends to regulate the temperature to the point where we don't get as much snow as folks 50 or 60 miles west. However, every ten years or so we get a "major" snow storm here and we get hit with 6" to 12" of snow. I like to be prepared. ;)

The Duratracs look like they can channel the water pretty well too.

Early on I had considered Michelin road tires because of the high rating in rain and snow, but I look back at the pictures with road tires and can't imagine ever going back. They're just too smooth and plain.

We got hit with snow a couple times. I think we got about a foot. Where I work had actually "closed" but I had things I needed to do. There were only 2 people that showed up that day and we both had Tacomas. :D
