There is no way heat is cracking a windshield. I'd say there was a manufacture defect in the edge of the glass that made it weak and after time it finally cracked!

With another Toyota windshield or another glass maker? Mine is pitted from bugs and I have around 2500 miles on my truck.

Edit>> Never mind I just read your post above..

sucks, but i'd leave it until you source the issue. there may be a replacement 2017 or 2018 OEM screen that could improve on it if its a design issue.

A car kicked up a rock on the freeway and cracked mine, $400 later.

Should have asked insurance if it was covered...

I'm getting mine replaced on Wednesday. My was due to a rock all the way on the right side right next to the pillar. They couldn't fill it because of the location. With this San Antonio crazy heat lately that sucker is almost all the way across. Thank goodness for a low deductible. Wasting mod money on a windshield sucks.

Wish you had a windshield sunshade to compare the temperature with it in vs without it like in the photo. Myself I believe the sunshade does make a difference.

My glass guy claims that all new factory glass isn't what it used to be and is generally thinner.

If you send me a nice sunshade, I'll test it for you. Thermometer on the dash, direct sun, 115-120 external temps.

If it makes a difference, I'm keeping it. That's the catch. ;)

$250 deductible later and my new windshield is in. Just received my Weathertech sunshade and it's a perfect fit.

Do you folks all NOT have 0-deductible glass?

Maybe it's different everywhere else, but no deductible glass coverage is one of the best investments you can make in arizona

That's not an option where I'm at. This is my 4th truck and I've had 5 cars and this is my first windshield issue. Knock on wood my last. Lol

That's rough. I go through 1 or 2 windshields a year. Not a matter of windshield integrity, just extreme heat mixed with heavy (but low duration) rainfall, as well as 30+deg temp swings every day/night (more if you park in the sun), and lots of rocks on the road.
