totally agree. If I bought the K&N to save some cash, I'd only start looking for
a dry filter, I don't use oiled filters, never have and have no plans to. So I figure,
after I purchase a dry filter, try to fab something to enclose that K&N I'd be kicking
myself thinking about the extra couple hundred I "should" have spent in the 1st
    place.

IIRC, AFE manufactured the 2nd gen TRD intake for a time.

Did you guys notice that you can get a hood scoop part to couple with the aFe cold air intake system? That'd be sick if you could rig it up to make the hood scoop on the TRD Sport's actually functional!

pretty sure a few have done that on the 2nd gens. Thought about it myself but
never ended up trying anything. You'd have to fab a whole new part though.

That looks like a Briggs engine.
VTEC is useless for a running at a single speed all the time. :p

Why does the AFE have that optional piece that draws air from behind the radiator and condenser? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of CAI?

Does anyone have a chart showing the performance gains in HP and torque from installing AFe's CAI? The gains from K&N were impressive for the dollars I thought. Also, is TRD coming out with a CAI for the 2016 Tacoma's anytime soon?

You think they'd have tested it first before it 'becomes available'

you don't think "maybe" that's the delay in the release....testing? A known company
is going to toss it out there and hope for the best? Really?

Depends on their numbers. Looks like they'll be available in 2 days. Of course I'll wait until there's a nice review up on youtube so I can see it in action before I buy it.

That's kinda how I was thinking, get the cheaper one and then retro fit it to work
like the nicer more expensive model. I've chosen to just spend a bit more and get
the aFe and be done with it.......if I don't trade this one for the PRO :D
