Going wheeling up in Redington Pass with @mbmack1 and Alex tomorrow! I'd better not rub at all or I'm burning it down and starting over

 

Dana 60s and you should skip 37's and move to 40's

Well I gotta say, the YJ did awesome yesterday! Alex, Matt and I drove a 140 mile loop yesterday, starting on the east side of Tucson, through Redington pass to check out some Cold War era Uranium mines, out the east side of the pass, up through San Manuel, and stopped for lunch at a great Mexican restaurant (can't recall the name though) in Mammoth.

Then it was on to Tucson Wash just north of Mammoth, where we found a Sycamore-ish wonderland of sand washes where some serious high-speed fun could be had by the prerunner guys, minus the popularity and high traffic of Sycamore, plus some amazing canyon camp sites in an area with similar scenery to Box Canyon near Florence! We stopped at one particular awesome spot that was in a "canyon cove" for a celebratory adult beverage on the way out.

After that, we made the decision to try and find the ghost town site of Tiger, which is immediately south of the Tucson Wash/canyon area. We 4x4 bushwhacked through 5 miles of 1930s era power line road, where @mbmack1 high-centered the long-bed trail limo on a berm in the road. So stuck that even the BAMFYJ fully locked in wouldn't pull him out, so we took 45 mins and dug him out and were on our way again!

We all loaded into the jeep for the final mile or so and 10 minutes later we parked and hiked up a small hill to the townsite of Tiger, Arizona! Although there wasn't much left besides a building or two there were plenty of old building materials, appliances, trash, glass bottles and jars, a couple 1930s era cars and parts, and house foundations everywhere. It was an awesome find! We wandered around for an hour or so before daylight began to run out and we decided to leave. All in all a good day!

This is overlooking the ghost town of Tiger. The corrugated steel building used to be a chicken coop (we think). And you can see a power pole on the left side of the shot. And way off in the distance is another old car.
