There was an awful lot of cussing yesterday. What was meant to be a cheap lift so I could fit my old tires on and gain a little clearance turned into spending way more money than I wanted to and having to put a lot of extra time in. The only thing that disappoints me is that TC UCAs do not come with new through bolts. Because I would like to just cut them out and put the new bolt in backwards.

Well that blows. I've heard horror stories of trying to get out the bolt on our stock UCAs, having to bend the fender and stuff. No thank you.

Thats exactly what bothers me. Having to bend that inner fender. I may just try to buy two new bolts from the dealer for the probably $20 each that they want and put it in backwards.

That's what I'd do. In the long run it'll save you a headache and it'll save you from bending stuff.

Recommend you double-nut and red loctite those bolts if you do that.

It will be blue lock tite. I will not use red. It will get a nut and a jam nut on that. I will not use red lock tite on something I may need to remove again. There should be no need for red on this.

I'm a little unclear if you're going to use red locite on this?

Had to pull my neighbor out of the sand in their driveway, little ford focus up to its frame rails.

Well they were just across the street so it wasn't much of a trek but with all the damn tourists in Pensacola I definitely keep the strap and shackles on me.

Man do I wish it was just a few dollars more.

You won't. They aren't treated from the assembly line. The trick is to liberally apply anti-seize or grease on install. Then, annually, pull one bolt at a time and reapply treatment - more often if you mud or run a lot of water. If you mark the alignment cams and do one bolt at a time (and retorque before touching the next one) - you won't need an alignment when you do it.

Yes. After we got to town we did unspeakable things to the spray wash. Until we all ran out of quarters and fled the area.
