the rear suspension is a lot firmer relative to the front. i've noticed the front is a bit more floaty under road undulations on the freeways (60 - 80mph) and in the turns (on ramps and off).

not a big deal but was wondering if other sport models drivers have the same observations. wonder also if the OR set up is even floatier?

My SR's front suspension for the first 1-2k miles was slightly stiffer than the rear, had a fairly jarring ride quality too; totally unlike the OR version of the truck I test drove which were very smooth.

Now, with 4k miles, the front end is very soft (slightly under-dampened, so it's a bit floaty), and the rear has softened up a bit as well, wow it turned into quite the cushy ride, I'm loving it, but I think I might upgrade to front shocks with more rebound dampening.

IIRC, Sport springs used to be progressive; everything else was linear.

Sport model Hitachi fronts after 35K miles are soft and no longer provide a good rebound. The rears were toast (& leaking) at 33K miles.

I stand corrected. Blue tokico's on the front and blue hitachi's on the rear

I have a set of nearly new Bilstein take-offs for the front and rear that I am having installed this week by a friend. This should restore the ride a bit.

Get 5100's all around with EMU 885 springs and 3 leaf ICON progressive AAL for the rear. IF you tow a boat you can leave the factory overload spring in place or remove.

This all cost me around $850 to my door.

The stock sport suspension was/is supposed to be a bit stiffer.. which it was for about 5K, now after 10K it's a bit bouncy in the rear and a little floaty up front and nose dives on braking, with a nice body roll on turns at highway speed... not a confidence builder for handling.

Why I decided to go with some new struts, springs and stiffer leafs. I off road some but not a big rock crawler. Mud, dirt, sand, gravel and snow - the deeper the better! I'm good with that.

    First time owning a truck?

They are made to haul, which is why the rear is a lot stiffer than the front.

Sport springs were always linear. Off Roads are progressive.

    That sounds like an idea.

Thanks for the correction. Apparently, I did not recall correctly.

The installation of the front TRD Bilsteins w/springs removed the front end float feel and significantly minimized the front end dive during braking. The rears go on tomorrow.
