I pretty much have the same truck and looked at that same tool box this weekend...Did we just become best friends?

Do you have model number for that exact box? The place I saw it at had some cheap ass led strip and they wanted $60 more bucks for it.

im a tech there and did it myself, but i guess thats still a yes. I also added a half a quart of ATF that it needed, and aligned the truck with only 226 miles on it. (steering was off slightly to the left)

With the vinyl acting as a diffuser, it dims the indicator down to the same brightness as the heater controls at full dim. it's SO MUCH better this way!
I had the vinyl laying around from when I wrapped part of my FJ roof, it seems to have worked perfectly. The glass shift indicator cover is only held on with 3M sticky tape, I removed the whole console and unscrewed the shifter light housing then just popped the glass up with my fingernail, you may be able to get lucky with leaving it in place and using a small flat screwdriver or a pick. Rock it side to side as you pull up and it should come off rather easy. I just pressed it back down after applying the vinyl and it isn't going anywhere.

I definitely need to do that! At night I've been taking my wallet and sticking it there to cover it lol. I'll have to grab a small roll of vinyl. Thanks for the how to!

I said price a Colorado not buy a Colorado. They do look decent and they must have more power and torque than these 3.5's have and I would not expect 5-6 issues in 5 months even on a Chevy truck. I just have too many issues with my truck right now. I know when, or feels like if, Toyota will fix everything on my truck I will feel much better. There are no real options to the Tacoma besides maybe the Colorado. I do wish that a new body Ranger or new body Frontier was on the market for comparison. Ranger is a year away and Nissan still builds 90's Frontiers. Perhaps I expect too much. I just assumed when they had it for service, with a list of 5 WARRANTY items to fix, that at least maybe 2 or 3 would have been fixed. Was not expecting to hear "we understand it's a problem but we don't know of a fix" for most of the issues so I sort of lost faith. Just really p.o.'d that I am stuck self diagnosing and finding others that have had these items fixed. That's not how a new truck warranty should work. I don't care if they take 30 days to find and fix stuff that is wrong with it. One example is the grease smear inside the driver door glass since day 1. There are only 3 or 4 places inside a door that can create this smear. For them to remove the panel and throw it back on without some real troubleshooting is pretty lame. They had the nerve to ask if I may have got grease on the weatherstrip myself to cause it which was ridiculous. Nearly every issue that I detailed for them are well known on these forums (tranny slip, squeaky front end, trip meter random reset) and yet they never heard of anything besides low atf which when filled did not help my tranny issue. I am totally a Ford F150 and Tacoma guy. Up until now I thought they were equally quality built. I just hope this is all resolved soon so I can enjoy this forum and not be a Debbie Downer on it.

Assembled my 5100's with OME 887s tonight. After I finished the first one, I set the next spring beside the assembled shock to see how much it had to compress. It is just over 2" difference.

So the main focus for my tacoma is hauling as much gear as possible.... Just added these items:
-yakima roof rack (I also have a thule sup buddy for paddleboards).
-homemade mid-rise bed rack. This will be use for my RTT. Also bolted in fork mounts on either rail for mountain bikes. Additional holes have been drilled to mount quick fists for paddles, shovels, etc.

Sorry for the crappy pic but is wanted to post this up!

I drove the 15 and 16 Colorado before getting the 16 Tacoma. Three times I drove a Colorado my legs got numb from the front seats. There are actually forums about people's unhappiness with the displeasure with the seats.2016-07-11 22.22.22.jpg

Looks like you didn't loose any ground clearance on the bumper. What type of winch did you choose? Thanks again

Actually, I have had all my doors apart and the front door glass rides on a track
(channel) that keeps it away from any other inner door parts. The only item
that the glass comes in contact with is the upper seal. It would have to be a
pretty big glob of grease anywhere else to cause a smear on the glass (inside
or out). You might want to try:
    A) Get yourself a thin (narrow) putty knife and a thin piece of cotton
(handkerchief), soak the handkerchief in 90% alcohol. Wrap the blade
of the putty knife in the handkerchief and slide it between the window
and the seal. If there is any grease on the seal, the alcohol should
    remove it.
    B) Ask the dealership to replace the window seal in the door as a
    "good faith" gesture.

I have read here that the front end noise may be coming from a body
mount or a faulty radiator bushing. I do not have this issue so I cannot
replicate it. Regardless though, oiling springs, bushings or body mounts
is not the answer. You are doing the right thing by escalating it up the
    corporate chain.

The random trip meter reset sounds like it may be caused by a bad
connection (harness) between the on-board computer, the head unit
and the screen between the tachometer and the speedometer. Since
it is random or aperiodic, it will be difficult to nail down. Systematic
replacement of associated components may be the only way to isolate
    the issue.
