IMO .. The weather in SoCal is the best of about anywhere ... just super expensive and a lot of people there now.

    I've lost count....
I paid a little over 44K for my lariat. You can get a loaded XLT for under 40K right now. The profit margins on full size trucks are huge, you can get about 10K off of the sticker of pretty much any full size truck (including the Tundra) pretty easily.

I have only driven Toyota trucks for the past 15+ years, so it was quite a change for me. When I realized the new Tacoma just wasn't for me I looked at the Tundra pretty seriously. If the Tundra wasn't so out-dated and got mpg's closer to all the other full size offerings I might have gone that route. I have been very pleased with my F150. It's a lot more truck than a Tacoma, but you get used to the size difference pretty quick.

Still waiting on the tow to the adjuster. They said within 48 hours it would be out of my parking lot. But I talked with my rep a little more and it seems to me like they are leaning hard towards totaling it out.

"SoCal" is half the state. LA metro is horrible, agreeably. Perhaps your time in SD was planned at a poor time because it's one of the best big cities in America.

Talked with the actual flames agent today too. He already started mentioning actual cash value and total loss. I should know in the next few days what the verdict is.

I hope they total it. I would not want a new truck with that kind of fixed damage.

Get the Tundra. F150 are nice but I feel the Tundra is a better made truck. Just my opinion.

Also, SoCal, I love it. Expensive in most of the part but never see myself leaving.

I was hopeful that when I moved to the SoCal coast that the weather would be sunny most of the time and 75 to 80 degrees. Reality is it's cloudy/foggy at least half the time and on the colder side of "comfortable" when you normally would expect to enjoy warm summer temps instead its cloudy and in the 60s. I went to jump in the ocean and when I came it it looked like I had two belly buttons.... water is friggin COLD. Worthless.
