Can we get an official confirmation of how this new bumper affects the approach angle vs. OEM bumper? Higher / same / lower approach angle, and by how many degrees? Truck-meet bragging nights will require stats...

Thank you much for keeping us updated! I'm definitely in on the group buy. OP should be able to create a poll on this thread so everybody who's interested can vote on what they would like.

I'm in at MSRP regardless but if we wait till you have them ready it can give us more time to spread the word and take advantage of the group buy discounts. It's not like we'll get them any sooner. Just my $0.02

Also, can you create/post some official installation instructions? I specifically want to know what parts of the original bumper cover / supports get removed, and how/where the bumper attaches to the truck.

If the truck's original bumper-bar (not sure what it's called - the one that absorbs impact from frontal collisions - typically behind the bumper cover) is removed, that could theoretically have insurance-claim implications, and I'd like to do that research going in.

The slimline certainly doesnt decrease the approach angle but any increases will be minimal. I didnt take a measurement on the oem bumper but my eagle eye suggests our slimline bumper is about 3/4" closer to the truck, so there is some additional clearance.

I've got all kinds of pictures for the instructions but they are not yet written. In the mean time, you could check out the 4runner install instructions which is very very similar.

I'm sold! This is one of the nicest form-fitting winch/light bumper guards out there.
Would it be possible to mention the best winch for this set up and tips on installing it? Murphey's Law tends to follow me around, so I could use all the help I can get!
    Thanks!

Kevin, any chance you will be making one with a receiver hitch in lieu of the winch cradle? It would be great to leave the winch at home if it is not needed.

I'd be interested in that, too. A winch can always be mounted to the receiver, and not carried around (dead weight) the other 95% of the time. Plus, the receiver has other uses.

// edit - and an option for hinge-mounted plate to cover the front receiver, please. Similar to what CruisinOffRoad offers for their rear bumper:

A little birdy tells me (17) 2016 tacoma fronts are being laser cut and bent as we speak. We will have them in hand this afternoon. We cut (8) 25" light bar faces, (5) 20" Rigid faces, and (4) plain face no light bar. All of these are winch capable and come standard with shackle (d-ring) mounts.
