I do it quite often. Really hits your core. If you have never done it, start light (like only the bar) and work up. Dont over do it because the next morning it's going to feel like you did 500 crunches.

I did 135 tonight for 4 sets of 12. Didn't seem terrible, but I like to think I have a pretty strong core. I was going to go for 185 but was pretty fuckin tired after the 4th set. I'm gonna start doing it weekly.

All the time. It's a wonderful movement. Especially for developing the strength and stability required to stand up after catching a heavy ass clean.

Ignore the goal. Usually my carbs will come from candy or something. Today it's bread.

That's probably not too bad. I start light if I haven't done them in a bit just because it can feel awkward since it can feel like the weight is pulling you forward. Ill be curious how you feel. I like to think I have a strong core but it seems that every time I start incorporating front squats/lunges again, I get a reality check.

Oh I do lunges twice a week. 3 sets of 8 on each leg with 135lb barbell. If those help core then I'll be alright. Lol

I was talking about lunges with the bar in the same position for front squats, but ya, you'll probably be fine regardless.

I hate lunges. By far my least favorite of all exercises. Something about having to do both legs and them taking so long infuriates me.

I've learned to tolerate side lunges where you touch a cheek to a bench on each side and I can also handle walking lunges either with a bar across my back or holding DBs at my side.

I'm pretty good with my form. I'm terrified of injuries so I make a point to go light of my form is compromised at all...

And usually for walking lunges I actually just hold a single kettle bell (usually 15-20lbs) and pass it under my extended leg from one hand to the other. Helps force me to get lower in order for the pass to work

Heavy dumbbell lunges will make you strong! Grip, traps, core, glutes, quads..
I like standing in place. Did them tonight after squats.

Zach, try some single leg squats with the opposite leg on a bench and use dumbells. Will build you an ass real quick and help strengthen your core and balance. Even harder, try single leg squats with the opposite leg suspended in thr air in front of you. You may not be able to use any weight and fully squat but once you improve your balance and can use more weight, it's a great core, leg and stability exercise. It will also wear you out real quick with not much weight.

I have never really followed a meal plan. The bottom line is just not to eat carbs. Stay away from rice, bread, sugar, fruit...basically anything that has carbs haha. I usually get about 30-50 carbs a day and it's all from leafy green vegetables. Eat a lot of lean meat, but fatty meat is ok too. Olive oil is your friend.

    A typical day for me:
Breakfast: 4 eggs with shredded cheese, 2-3 strips of bacon
Snack: Jerky, or lunch meat and cheese in a "roll up"
Lunch: A "salad" w/ 6 oz grilled chicken breast over kale or spinach, with feta cheese and olive oil
Snack: "raw" or smoked almonds or peanuts (just watch the serving, these things are easy to eat a lot of)
Dinner: meat...ground beef (higher fat - 80/20, 85/15), steak, chicken, fish...pick one and eat a lot of it, add some steamed vegetables, an avacado
Before Bed: Whey and casein protein shake using unsweetened almond milk

I love front squats. I don't do them often, so the weight I use is pretty embarrassing. I don't think I've ever gone over 185 on them. You've got to have crazy-good form to go heavy on them or you'll end up on your ass.

Same. My least favorite workout, as well.

I love front squats though...prob my favorite quad exercise. Another leg exercise I started doing that reeeeeally gets my quads sore are dumbbell step-ups.

I remember when I did keto, I was choking down like 6 tbsp of olive oil per day. I tried to cook with it, but it ruined the taste of the food because I was using so much to hit my fat #'s. Eventually, I started throwing in more fatty meats like ground beef and, of course, bacon.

If it weren't for the complete lack of energy, I'd do it again, but I need my energy. Hell, I couldn't even think straight. I did lose a lot of fat in the short time I did it, though.

Also, this popped up on my Facebook this morning...the pic on the left is from 7 yrs ago vs. the pic on the right, which was this past Saturday. I was a string bean and my girlfriend (now wife) definitely gained her freshman 15. Now, I'm 60 lbs heavier and she's 30 lbs lighter.
