Depends on where the skid is. Bamf skid is probably bottom while the weld ons are the rear. The rear is a fuck ton more vulnerable tbh than the bottom. Bottom is pretty damn thick.

Poor Andys really struggling with those wheels haha I felt so bad reading his posts in pj's. At first I was cracking up but he sounded super bummed towards the end. The glam runners gonna be sick when he gets em dialed in though

 

Lol yeah, they are an absolute pain in the ass. I mounted 2 set of tires on them. Aint nobody got time fo dat

 

There's so many other things that will provide you a much bigger benefit that a diff diaper.

The bottom of the diff is plenty strong, so why loose ground clearance at was is already the lowest point on your truck? After years of abuse, and countless times dragging the diff across rocks, I finally ran into one issue with the bottom of the diff. That was I ground down the ring around the diff drain plug so much rocks began hitting the plug itself. Firing up the welder and 10 minutes later I fixed my problem for another several years.


TLDR: diff diapers are cool, so are 5100s. Spend your money on what you want.

 

Speaking of 5100s ive got a set of ome nitrocharger sports, 880's and 3/4in top plate spacers that will be up f/s as soon as i take some pictures (they're off the truck now)

Admit it... you just wanted to share how you like to grind on your rear end.

 

I was grinding on that rear end so hard I almost lost all my gear lube.

 

I bet the same thing happens when you stick your finger in a dirty tranny too.

 

Or when you accidentally hit the exhaust

 

Well, the last time that happened was only after I blew a gasket and was spraying all over the undercarriage, so that's another story entirely.

I ripped out my headliner and drilled holes in the roof..

 

If you could tell me how the hell you get the headliner that tucks into rear glass trim out that would be very helpful!
