Odometer reversing

    I have a 2009 TRD-OR four door w/ the 4.0 engine. I just noticed that the odometer reads about 6K miles. I know the dealer changed the oil at 10,222 b/c I have their sticker on the windshield. I think the truck should have about 12K miles now. I recently had the dealer correct the transmission shifting problem addressed in the TSB. Could the TSB repair have caused the odometer to lose miles? Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? Thanks.

    Anything you do to the truck IMO it is almost impossible to reverse milage these days ... especially if its digital .... unless, the speedometer stops working, then the odometer stops also .... but something dosent sound right ... you can not ever just accedently reverse the odometer ...

    Is it possible the 10K on the sticker is to remind you of when it needs service again?
    Look at the paperwork for the TSB it should have the milage it showed when you brought it in.

    I really don't think the dealer would do anything to back up the milage.
    Very bad to get caught doing that kind of thing even by accident.

    yea i think he has a sticker for oil change that says 10k on it ... lol since its a new truck and at 10k oil needs to be changed .. haha thats funny!!!!

    Reading one of the trip meters would be a easy mistake. I just checked and it is the ODO meter I am reading. Also, the last oil change was te second.

    I'm wrong. It was the first oil change, not the second. The 10,222 mile sticker is the reminder for the second. Satire is a wonderful tool. It keeps us honest. Dementia, on the other hand, is not so good. Thanks again.

    i dont think anything .. if its easy or hard .... ive herd its almost impossible to do that unless you disable the speedometer, it stops the odometer but i dont think the odometer is reversible ... atleast thats what ive herd and known ....
