Put gas in it. 19.3 gal (most I've ever filled up) and got 456mi on the tank at 24.4mpg on the dash. Not bad

any tuning required? I'm new to the whole Tacoma scene but I know with all my imports I have owned over the years a tune is almost required to run safely... I know these 3GEN Tacoma's ECU's are harder to get into than fort knox so im curious as to if these can just be bolted up and good to go or if its going to cause any issues with A/F ratios or back pressure etc.

Street Taco - Yes, I was trying to help Mrproduxn (entry # 26514 of this thread). Helping
one another is what this blog is all about - even though some thing it is a dumping ground
for newbies or anyone they don't seem to agree with. Nuff said. I see you are from Jax
Beach. I grew up in the Riverside area and later retired from the Navy, buying a house up
in the Cape off Starratt Road. We now live in Lexington, TN and are loving it.

I find the seats in the Tacoma aren't long enough, my legs (I'm only 5'9) don't feel supported, took a lot of getting used to.

I was watching the race when they showed the fire and I was hoping it was not a new Tacoma. Never got a good look at the trucks till I saw the video's online this am. (I hope it was a Dale Jr. or Jimmie Johnson fans truck's)

5'10" here and I finally found just the right position slid back from the steering wheel that feels comfortable. Like these seats allot better than the chevy colorado.

Wouldn't this make the roof absorb more heat and feel hotter inside the cab?

I was the one inquiring about the grease smear on glass. Corporate emailed me that the dealer will contact me tomorrow regarding all my issues. I am following advice by at least replacing the window weather seal inside if they find no other cause. I was offended that the service writer asked if I had got grease on it. It did it from day 1 of purchase. For 6 months I have stocked alcohol wipes to clear the smear at least 2-3 times a day. What I am saying is that it has never stopped thus making me believe it is being splashed from the motor assembly or from tracks with window full down. Maybe.

On the power argument of 3.5 vs 4.0 I know this 2016 3.5 runs like an old dog with asthma compared to my 2nd gen 4.0 Prerunner. I guess if I manual shift my automatic to get the rpm's over 5500 then I might feel some power. But I LOVE THE MPG of the 3.5. My 4.0 never saw 17 mpg in town. Now I get avg of 19. Everything is a compromise. The 3.5 is adequate. It is not a race truck. I think my 2000 Reg Cab Prerunner 2.7 automatic was close in 0-35 mph power. And it only avg 18 mpg in town. This is a lot of truck for the good mpg. I expected tuners to be on the market by now to modify the timing and lower the torque band. I have never tried ECT but will after my warranty stuff is done.
