Yup! Really doubt I'd ever end up married, but if by some crazy circumstances I did I'd be doing everything I could to protect what I've worked for.

 

i think when you're young and you both enter the marriage with nothing it's different. but i'm old and crusty now, and have things set up just for me

Yea we try to plan our trip around spots where there are multiple sites in case some are taken, as a side note: we go up mid week and stay until midweek

Ok, so if you look at the map on that website you'll find a cluster of small lakes called Deboullie Public Reserved Land. It's like 30 miles North West of Portage, Maine as the crow flies. There are a number of sites there on the water so you may be in good shape there. Insane wheeling to be done in the area. It's amazing but it's a long ways up there. I'm in Central NH and it takes less time for me to drive to Buffalo than there.

 

I wish but August and early September are pretty much booked solid for me.

Deboullie might be a bit far for us, I have looked in that area before though, but thanks for the links. We were at Nahmakanta Lake last year (southern tip) and that was real nice (right along the AT, so we met some cool people), and the year before that we were at Abol Falls off the Golden Road. We might be giving Maine a break this year though (less than a month away so we are procrastinators). Were thinking possibly the Adirondacks.

 

Ah, the A'dacks, I only know camping in the State Park by backpack so can't help much.

 

No worries, just exploring options right now.
I have found a couple cool looking spots out in NY but a lot of them seem to be blocked by those pesky things called gates!

no but they make a lot of motorcycle bags etc. i also use them for my luggage, backpacks, and camel back

You can always tell someone's old and crusty when they've got the firing order for a V8 in their signature.
